I started noticing it when I saw quite a number of discussions about Cassino's doujins and associated translations some time ago; if it weren't for the silly waifu wars and t/a/rds probably it would be a nice place...

Kaworu is always serious, even in AU. Anyway it fits well with his artistic talent, I guess that he'd become either this or a pianist, but you can't turn Shinji into her rightful form with a piano.

Well, it's from the Lol-y comic relief scenario, so this was expected.

But if you substitute "makeup artist" with "regular artist" and have Shinji become an object of practice in another way (Say, Kaworu asks him to model for a portrait), you could actually see them having this sort of conversation, I think.

The sentiment of wanting to bring out the beauty in others suits Kaworu, despite the sillyness involved hereXD

Any job Kaworu would have would be of the artistic sort, he's already such a "high"/"abstract" person, definitely artist or musician.

First of all, I want Rei to clean my ears. The damn things are always itching and I can't think of a nicer person to soothe my poor auditory organs.

Shinji looks adorable in makeup too. Kaworu did a good job.

To be honest i found the Kaworu event way more beautiful than funny... But still quite funny.

Also, i'm not sure if Kaworu would be an artist, by virtue of his adamic nature. I think his interests would be more into philosophy or psychology.

Also, Shinji looked a bit ridiculous in the make-up :lol:

It's a little funny, but for me it's mostly just painfully adorable. Even though I think Kaworu would be more likely to become a painter or musician than a makeup artist. Though Dream, you've got a point, philosophy would also suit him. But I'm pretty sure being a philosopher isn't actually a job.

I'm glad all these K/S scenes are getting translated :nyao:

And all the more so that they're getting posted here, so I don't have to go on /a/.

And by the way i don't think Kaworu looks any more effeminate in that scene compared to the series, plus i found Shinji more masculine in there despite the make-up.

If I recall this right, both Shinji and Kaworu were designed using girls as basis, according to Sadamoto. Shinji was a genderswap from Nadia (and he supposedly looks like Rei and Yui) and Sadamoto re-used his design for Makoto (the heroine of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). Meanwhile Kaworu's design is supposed to be a mixture of bits of Shinji's, Rei's and Asuka's designs according to Sadamato (sometimes he resembles Haruko of FCL sometimes, at his manliest, Chiaki, Makoto's love interest in TGWLTT).

I've been spoilered for 3.0 on some minor details I suppose (new outfits and the like) but that's mostly been my own fault.

On a whim, I decided to translate this scene from NGE2. It was pretty easy, especially with the test, but my Japanese isn't the greatest, so I put all the parts I wasn't sure about and couldn't translate in brackets. Hope someone enjoys! If someone could help me with the translation or offer improvements I'd really appreciate it.

Fuyutsuki: Hi, Shinji.

Shinji: Ah, hello.

Fuyutsuki: How are you? Would you care to join me in my office for a little bit? I'd like to talk to you.

Shinji: Talk with me? Ok...

Shinji: Um, what did you want to talk about?

Fuyutsuki: You take after her.

Shinji: Eh?

Fuyutsuki: You truely look just like Yui.

Shinji: Like mother?

Fuyutsuki: Shinji, could you put this on?

Shinji: Eh, what's this?

Fuyutsuki: Yes, now, this is...

Fuyutsuki: Oh, exactly! Yui-kun. Could you say "Professor Fuyutsuki"?

Shinji: Uh, Professor Fuyutsuki

Fuyutsuki: Yes, [we ought to take some pictures]
