Much more accurate translation of the final episode summaries:

Proposal wrote:Episode #23: "The Human Instrumentality Project"

The secrets of Eva and the Human Instrumentality Project unveiled, along with the truth behind Ritsuko and [Shinji's] father's goals.

Episode #24: Now, the Promised Time

Rei breaks down. Her secrets are revealed. Finally awakened, the 12 strongest Apostolos descend from the Moon. Both Eva Unit 06 and the American continent vanish completely. Humans acknowledge their helplessness in the face of the Apostolos' crushing power. The promised time, when people will return to nothing, approaches. A human drama in the depths of despair.

["Rei breaks down": "breaks down" can also be "collapses" or "be defeated". "Vanish": "evaporate" or "disappear without explanation".]

Episode #25: "Arka, the Promised Land"

The laboratory holds the ancient ruins of Arka, which have become key. In order to stop the 12 Apostolos, the United Nations' head members annul the Human Instrumentality Project and decide upon the Apostolos' destruction. [Shinji's] father objects. Shinji and the others stay at the laboratory for Rei. A drama of people conflicting over incongruous objectives.

Final Episode: "The Only Neat Thing to Do"

On the stage of the destroyed laboratory, all mysteries and drama are concluded. The denouement.

Remember at all times that the commonly distributed translations kind of, well... suck. (I'll get around to tackling episode #01 ~ #22... sometime.)

Incidentally, the "12 strongest Apostolos" were conceptually recycled into the 3-less-than-planned Mass Production Mob.

I mean, they have Kaworu there and he looks a bit different...

Not by much. It's also worth noting that the animators couldn't seem to agree on how to draw him. (There is some wild variation within the span of a single episode.)

I would personally like to see that in Rebuild. (the 12 strongest Apostolos and Arka)

I hope that it's just "energy hair", but I fear that it's real hair. Someone on ANF who played the PS2 port of NGE2 told us about one of the endings, which includes an image clearly depicting EVA-01's locks. I haven't seen it myself, but it sounds scary enough to be real.

master0rolando wrote:it hadnt occured to me that it could be hair until i heard Reichu say it somewere...

It's called "hair" (kami) in the script.

i would like to disagree on the statement that Rei has no Angel DNA in her...

Oh, not that again...

As we discuss here Unit 1 grows blue hair...

Its actual color is somewhat ambiguous -- depends on the hair's properties.

(Evas fit in the same category as an angel do they not?)

If you're going in that direction, "Angel" is technically "all humans but the first".

If Rei was a clone of Yui and ONLY Yui...how could she possibly not have brown hair and green eyes...and darker shade of skin fer that matter

The official word is "copy" rather than "clone", although I'm not sure what the difference is supposed to be. There are similar mysterioso pigmentation differences between Adam and her "copies" (or those "clone-regenerated" from her), the Evas. (Based on inference, Adam would be pale-skinned and red-eyed.)

also...how could Reigenerate her arm the way she does in EoE without some form of body Angelness....

"Angel-ness", in this case, entails nothing more than having been fashioned from Lilith's flesh.

So, we would need 12 really strong Angels to attack at once from La Luna (which was, recall, formed from the fragments of the Black Moon exterior -- what are all of them doing there?), vaporize America, and by some miraculous deus ex machina be put in their place in time for a Denouement; and Nerv would also require access to some mysterious ruins that play a big role in something. Hmm...

I thought "kami" was Japanese for God?

And I still think Eva 00-02 (and maybe 03 if they leave out Bardiel) against the 12 strongest Angels would be an awesome fight.

Well, a Massively Multi-Angel Attack could have potentially happened. What if that big weird amalgam coming out of EVA-00's back really WAS Armisael's attempt to resurrect her fallen siblings -- and what if she succeeded? Armisael, + 13 or 14 (depends on Israfel's mood) others.

Japanese is one of those lanuages that have several ones said the same but mean different things. Kami can be either "hair", "God" or "Paper" (though one's said differently, the other two are said the same. Can't remember which one was which.)

I'm smrt! Even in Japanese, homophones look different... Moreso than ous, which are usually slight variations on spelling, theirs are entirely different kanji, at least fror "kami".

I wish they taught Japanese language classes around here, I'd love to learn the language beyond the minimal shyt I know.

Well, it WAS Eva as Anno "originally intended it", wasn't it?

I know that a lot of Eva was developed as it went along, but I do wonder how much was decided ahead of time (say, within the first few episodes or earlier) about what the Angels were, the true motives behind things, etc.

More like Evangelion Beta version, and quite frankly it's cheesy as hell, just because it was an early version of the ending doesn't mean it's going to be in Rebuild.

Hey, Yui can cosmically poop out her son hundreds of miles in space down back to earth. Therefore, she can do ANYTHING. ;)

Only his soul. His physical body was reformed thanks to the sea of LCL.

Hey, thats still impressive. ;O

So does that mean it doesn't have to be your LCL, per see, as long as the soul has LCL to shape a body?

That's what I'd assume, since Shinji's first reformed body (after the month spent in Eva) wasn't the LCL that he was dissolved in. The LCL he was dissolved in was spilled all over the floor, and he squirted out of the core.

Dude, what? There's symbolism of her lowering the entry plug down to Earth. Not to mention at the end of the movie when we see her back ZOMG the plug is gone!

And please note the following.

The entry plug is gone. Shinji's soul did not magically hitch a ride from anything. He remained inside Yui the whole time, and ejected the plug off-screen.
Oh, but God forbid any of these theories have any validity! After all, we are just brainwashing innocent people with Reichu's fanclub propaganda!--Trigger's Elysium sarcasm for the masses!

An earlier version of the script actually explicitly has Shinji activating the plug ejection mechanism, doesn't it?

Yeah, that's in the alternate endings page on MDWigs' site. Also, note that Shinji enters the plug with Misato's cross (we see it a couple times in the Instrumentality scenes), and he still has it after he returns to earth, which tends to indicate that he's within the plug throughout the whole process.
