I noticed the full OST is (finally) out and apparently Bande-annonce (garçons) is a variation of (Disc 2, Track 14) Peaceful Times and not this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAIjpPifLxU

Makes sense since Google Translate French reveals

Bande-annonce (garçons) = Trailer (boys)

Quatre Mains (bande-annonce) = Four Hands (trailer)

though you'd think they'd make a point of sticking the all the shortened music on CD 2?

Anyway, I'd say L'Apôtre de la Lune (2 pianos) is a personal favorite of mine ever since I heard the audio rip. It reminds me of Debussy's Reverie for whatever reason. (No idea why that instead a Satie piece.)

I assumed Mike Wyzgowski is a (fellow) Pole. It's a Polish last name, anyway. And apparently I somehow forgot he wrote lyrics for all the NME films so far, not just EoE. After some Googling, here he is: http://www.last.fm/music/Mike+Wyzgowski Apparently he's British but I guess he has a Polish background?

Well,I found someone who uploaded the longer versions of the songs I think on Youtube and listened to them all. Gotta say,not to impressed honestly. There's only 1 or 2 songs I like out of all of them. Then again,my opinion might change once I see the movie and see the part's where each track plays.

Did he really? I assumed the lyrics to the VOX songs were by Loren and/or Mali.

oh boy...haven't posted on here in years but have been lurking. I gotta say I just had the most eargasmic time of my life sitting at my computer blasting this soundtrack in my house. Dear god I can't wait to see the movie!

I guess it doesn't help that I'm a classical singer and the harmonies and choral parts are brilliantly done....

love to buy the 3.0 OST but i'm saving my money for other stuff (notably all four of Mondo Vision's limited edition Andrzej Żuławski DVD releases, which are $30 a piece at the moment) so a lossless FLAC torrent will suffice for me.

Quick question which the answer could possibly be considered a spoiler slightly maybe to some so I'll spoiler the question anyway....
SPOILER: Show
Is the OST track order indicative at all of the general 3.0 plot flow?

Just listened to it; love it, love everything about it. It's again very different from the OSTs of 1.0 and 2.0, but nonetheless great. It might be less catchy than 2.0, but I can only say for sure after repeated listenings.

A solid number of tracks aren't actually used in the film (not from what I can put together from the audio rip), so I guess that hides things a fair bit.

I reckon everyone who wants to remain spoilerless should be fine, and the song titles don't give anything away either.

More BGMs from Nadia in Q: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_TyK73nB3I

In my honest opinion, it needed to be that awesomely re-orchestrated to make up for the fact that it wasn't going to accompany one of the most awesome black men in 80's Japanese animation.

Since 2.0 and 3.0 both included significant musical references to other previous Anno-directed works besides NGE, I'm almost certain we'll see a reference or two to Gunbuster come 4.0, most probably Toki no Kawa wo Koete or one of the battle themes.[/i]

I'm skeptical of that, since all of the music from 1.xx and 2.xx were from Hideaki Anno and music composer Shiro Sagisu collaborations. Sagisu didn't write music for Gunbuster like he did Evangelion, Nadia, or Kare Kanno. Rather, Gunbuster's musical score was written by Kohei Tanaka, who also wrote music for Dragonball. Tanaka also played a bit role in the creation of Nadia's musical score (possibly only the jingle that plays during the commercial bumps), but I hardly think that's a strong enough connection to start hauling in Gunbuster themes for FINAL. It might also be more difficult to secure the rights to the music for use in FINAL since the same man isn't responsible for both scores.

But it of does take place, the only two themes from Gunbuster I think that would be appropriate for FINAL would be BGMs that both begin and end the whole series.

EDIT: The more of the first part of this soundtrack I listen to, the more I think AMVs about Captain Nemo from Nadia need to happen to Dark Defender and The Anthem.

Yeah, I know Gunbuster was done by a different composer. But at this point, as far as licensing payments go, 3.0's probably gonna make enough money that they probably wouldn't even bat an eye to pay Tanaka (or whoever owns the rights to the Gunbuster soundtrack) for royalties, unless they demanded something completely absurd.

But comparing Anno and Sagisu's IMDB entries......it doesn't show that they had any collaborations other than Nadia, Eva, and Kare Kano. Unless they decide to pull a fast one and revamp tracks from EOE. I think they're just gonna go for other signature cues from Anno's directorial resume, and the most popular title that they haven't referenced yet is Gunbuster.

Or they could just decide to not put any referential cues in at all, but I think that's a slim possibility.

I've listened to it, and i didn't really like it as much as 2.0's soundtrack, for me it doesn't have the same.... "dramaticness" that 2.0 had, but, having said that, i have only listened to it once, i'll probably have to listen to it again.

Regarding to this, I have scanned the tracklist from the booklet and how it works is as follows:

SPOILER: Show

The 3EMxx numbers indicated the order in which they were used in the film.
So see how Bataille d'Espace is =3EM01= and then Gods Message =3EM02=.
That is accurate to how they appeared in the first 6:38 of the film.

The tracks that don't have a number are bonus tracks and weren't used.
Though apparently there are many tracks that don't get used.
I'm assuming they used such a little portion of each track that it didn't sound like what it is in the album.
