Once Shinji gets out of Eva 01, he notices and get depressed that it's been 14 years and how much world is destroyed after the third impact
Kaworu comforts Shinji and tells Shinji that if they can get/find two lances and Eva 13, world can be restored. After that, they get on Eva 13. Eva 13 is two-seated
In the middle of the movie, there is a battle Shinji, Kaworu, Rei VS Asuka, Mari. Asuka uses code 777 to activate "the beast"
Rei, Shinji and Kaworu goes to get Lance of Cassius and Lance of Longinus, and they weren't supposed to pull them out as Longinus? (I don't understand what this means in korean either, but translated as closest to how it was said)
However, Shinji thought that doing so would turn everything back to it was, and by pulling that, it activates fourth impact
Misato tries to kill Shinji to stop the impact with the necklace which has bomb in it, but Kaworu notices this, and sacrifice himself by putting the necklace on in order to save Shinji. Kaworu dies horribly. Kaworu and Shinji were in the same cockpit, so Kaworu ruptures in front of Shi

Shinji, Asuka and Rei walks ( :P ) together. Asuka tells Shinji who is completely broken now, "you really can't be helped, Baka Shinji," and hold his hand. End.
We won't be seeing much of Rei.

Glad that Rei gets to pilot Unit 09, Rei III never did much after Rei II destroyed Unit 00. Whatever happened to Units 7,10, 11 and 12? Maybe they were destroyed by WILL-E or will become the new "Harpies". And has Misato aged a lot in 14 years? Still no images of her.

Well, this is a lot to swallow. And it seems like it would have to be a pretty elaborate hoax to not be true.
I guess it feels weird because it is so disjoint from what we are used to, and it also feels really disconnected from the world established in the two previous films. A lot of this is really confusing, but I guess it wouldn't be Eva if it wasn't confusing.
Still hoping for word on Kaji, though. Although his complete absence from all artwork does not bode well.
Also, has Seele just been sitting around doing nothing for 14 years? They have always came across as a very anxious people to me. I also can't see Gendo willing to wait a decade and a half to be reunited with Yui. Particularly with his 'Almost finished' comment in 2.0. Seems like they were nowhere near finished.
I guess its just really obvious they spent a lot of time revamping the story based upon the first preview.

I have high hopes for what this film is going to bring and I'm sure the experience AS A FILM - not just a bullet point list of plot developments - will be a very rewarding experience. The people who have clocked out of Rebuild I understand where you're coming from but to me I can't be more excited about 3.0!

Shinji gets rescued by Misato, but he quickly noticed that Misato and other people "hate" him and decided ran to Nerv with Rei.
So, if this is accurate, it seems that they've gone ahead with the darker interpretation of 2.0's climax, and the other characters are actually holding Shinji responsible for his bullshit. That's...magnificent.

Also, if Misato holds him responsible that's pretty hypocritical considering how she encouraged him to do it.

I thought that 09 was made from a dead Adam, not a reused 00.(that might not be true though). I think it's just painted orange to give Rei a sense of familiarity. Does it have the same Rei clone soul as 00?

6) Did Shinji even try to apologize to Asuka?
He doesn't need to apologize to her because he didn't do anything wrong (with her). He probably will need to apologize for going back to work for the guy who was responsible, though. Should lead to much hilarity in Final.
8) Is Anno just doing this so he can do a spin-off show on the 14-years inbetween?
Seems like it'd be a boring show, since there'd be no Angels to fight. Everyone at Nerv quits, they build a big ship, and . . . ?

Oh, wow. If that's legit that's an even bigger change than Asuka's surname. That changes the relationship between Gendo and Yui a lot.
Also sounds like Impact and its causes are very different from what's seen in NGE, and that the Spears have different uses/abilities/effects. And from what I've seen so far they don't seem to be semi-sentient this time around, either.
Also also: Kaworu dead, Shinji and Asuka holding hands, suck it shippers! AxS is still OTP!

EDIT: Also, best I've heard about Eva-13 so far is that it's a composite Eva. So, like, would that mean there's half of Eva-01 and half of Eva-06 (both armless and eyeless) still lying around somewhere? :p And we've heard Eva-13's core mentioned, but what happened to 01 and 06's cores?
It's [the movie is] very strange.
Q Rei is most certainly not the same Rei from 1.0/2.0. She's very cold towards Shinji, ignoring books he stacks outside her room for her to read. She shows nearly no emotion, even towards Gendo. There's a scene showing Rei in the LCL soul-tube and outside at the same time, but I'm not sure whether it was literal of SYMBOLISM.
Kaworu bros it up with Shinji for a good portion of the movie. He's still sort of camp and "free" when it comes to touching Shinji, but he's nothing like the manga Kaworu.
Asuka and Mari don't really get much personal time in this, just them in the Evas or in the Flying-Ship Eva.

You can sort of see it in the art book of Eva 09, but Q Rei's Eva has flowing, ribbon-like appendages on its back. These transform into rockets, similar to the ones Asuka/Mari use in space, and she flies away with Shinji in her hand after busting the side of the Ship Eva. He then wakes up in Nerv's medical room with Rei nearby.
Misato has her detonator in-hand during this scene but she can't pull the trigger because COMPASSION.
Q: Is it a 14 month time skip or 14 years?
I'm not sure of the exact time as my listening comprehension is shit, but it's definitely closer to 14 years. Toji's sister's apparent age and the way Asuka/Misato have changed how they speak seem to support this.
Q: What exactly happened during the last portion of the film, where Asuka and Mari fight Shinji, Asuka, and Rei?
I have almost no idea, there was so much going on.
For some reason, Kaworu thinks getting two different Lances will fix the world or something. When he, Rei and Shinji descend into Terminal Dogma, he realizes something and goes into deep thought. This is where the room with the entire floor covered in Eva-sized human skulls and the headless Lillith is. I'm not sure where the head Gendo talks to is, it's never revealed. I've read from the other spoilers Kaworu sees that the Lances are the same type, which they appear to be.
Either way, Shinji/Kaworu's AT Field is too much for Asuka/Mari and the fighting is futile. 4th Impact starts.
There's just one Rei, but she's different from the Reis of the past two films, so people suspect it might be a different Rei. No sign of the loli Rei as far as I know.
Also, there's a honeycomb-type wall with 20+ decapitated Rei heads sitting in each hole. This is when Fuyutsuki is explaining about Yui and her love of whatever game they're playing.
Yui is hot as fuck in his photo, Shinji is hnng-inducingly cute.

And some other thoughts on the movie:
Asuka, Mari and Wille folk are mostly present in the first 30 and last 30 ish minutes of the film. The focus is squarely on Kaworu, Shinji and to a lesser extent Rei.
Their (Kaworu/Shinji) relationship felt a lot more sincere and genuine than in the TV series as far as I'm concerned. Especially since Shinji has essentially had everything torn from him, leaving Kaworu as his only friend/the only person his age to relate to.
This is emphasized even further by how crushed he is when he realizes that he probably didn't save Rei, since the version he's faced with is very clearly not the one he had grown close to.
Kaworu's death:
The collar he took from Shinji activates.
Little black diamond-shaped things come out from it, they begin spinning around his neck. He says a few things to Shinji, then the diamond things move in towards his neck and he explodes.
Little bits of Kaworu are plastered on the inside of the Entry Plug, they slide down as Shinji is frozen in shock.
There's a lot of blood.
EDIT: Also, best I've heard about Eva-13 so far is that it's a composite Eva. So, like, would that mean there's half of Eva-01 and half of Eva-06 (both armless and eyeless) still lying around somewhere? :p And we've heard Eva-13's core mentioned, but what happened to 01 and 06's cores?
