Only Angels and Evas can use or penetrate AT Fields, and only Angels seem to be identified with Blood Type Blue. Seems to be a completely new Angel, although it's got some similarities to Armisael. And Eva-01 can use eye-lasers again.

The CGI seems really pretty good, for what I can understand of good CGI (essentially if it looks cool, it's good), I still don't like the new design of the characters though, I don't know if I'll ever get used to it.

Someone on /a/ uploaded the youtube video on mediafire, I don't know if it helps.

It seems to be an Angel, that is to say I think I heard them say that it was "Pattern Aoi" (Pattern Blue) and it's firing AT Field enabled rockets that can pierce an AT Field. Only Angels and Evas can use or penetrate AT Fields, and only Angels seem to be identified with Pattern Blue.

That's true, I forgot about that. That thing just seriously looked like it was covered in metal.

Also, the two things sticking out have the same colour scheme as Unit-01's shoulder pylons. I have no idea what that's about so I won't even speculate.

Two things:

1) Maybe Seele somehow took possession of Eva-01 and was in the process of transporting it to the Moon. What we are seeing now is in the future, when various Nerv personnel have teamed up to take it back. The angel inside the transport capsule could be a defense mechanism to make sure that Eva-01's trip is not interrupted.

2) This is probably a flash forward scene. I could see the movie ending on Kaworu's "welcome home" line.

The music that plays during the mirror ribbon angel thing (I propose Tinfoiliel as a fan nickname) attacking is awesome. Can't wait to get the soundtrack.

Maybe they just decided to leave it in the upper atmosphere out of reach? I'm not sure why they'd want to send it to the Moon, as there's already a Nerv base there and moon-travel seems pretty common in the Rebuild continuity, seeing as Gendo and Fuyutsuki went there to see the Mark 06. Any idea on the new Angel's going to be fan-named? It's sort of like Armisael when it unfolds completely, but much longer and more mechanical with a visible core (we can kind of see a red core-like object on that mechanical hub that Eva-01 eye-lasers at the end). And its method of attack is completely different.

I was thinking they might have a very brief flashback. At east I hope so. If it does happen it would be sometime during Shinji and Kaworu's encounter.

I'm getting the feeling that the things Asuka and Mari fight, possibly including Wriggliel, aren't natural Angels. That the little guys use an anti-AT field makes me think SEELE (as far as I can recall, the only non-Seed to use them was the S2-equipped MP Evas and Eva-01). Plus, Wriggliel seems to be a booby trap of some kind. The only thing that makes that seem off is Kaworu's lack of concern for his superiors' failure, implying his agenda wouldn't sync (heh, heh) up with theirs. He could always be unhappy with their confining the godly-powered Eva-01 to outer space, though. Frankly, that seems likely to me in any case.

Edit: Actually, the limbs of absurdly-resilient but laser-susceptible organic(?) squares make me think Tenth Angel. As well as ye olde Armisael (less Arael than I was expecting from previews).

I could go with the idea of it being Seele-made, except for the Blood Type Blue thing and the fact it explodes into a giant cross, and creates a cross-shaped laser-attack on Unit 02, which are very Angel-like characteristics. Also it seems to have a core. Maybe a mechanical Angel or Angel replica? I think it may have a real A.T. Field, which is why Asuka has such difficulty budging it from the cross-shaped object. Plus there's no way a man-made object can contain that much metal thread.

Also, the Button Angel leaves behind a couple of rainbows.
