Okay...so the 'Dali Cross' was the angel and had little 'drones' that it used to attack Unit 02 - when Asuka (in desperation) screamed 'Baka Shinji!' - 01 (I'm not sure where it was) manifested its eye-beams, which punched a hole in the dali-container and then destroyed the angel?
As a thought, given that all that was left at the end was the Eva-carrier, could Unit-01 have been inside the carrier, with its S2 engine jerry-rigged to provide power for Unit-02?
Mari seemed to have been in a 'gunners' position, never actually ejecting her unit from its carrier.

Asuka called her ekohiiki (effectively "the [Commander's] pet") in 2.0.
I honestly didn't expect the movie to open with anything else, given the focus of publicity, but it's a disorienting way to begin. I guess we'll make do in the end, just like we did when they put us in Bethany Base at the start of the last movie.
The Angel appears to generate an Anti A.T. Field at one point.

Does anybody else get a completely black video screen when trying to watch this? I saw the camrip, but the HD version won't play right....
EDIT: Seems Opera has a problem playing HTML5 videos for some reason.

Mari kicks the lid off her capsule just to make an 'I'm so sorry' hands-pressed-together gesture with her Eva. We can now confirm that EVA-08 is the pink unit with the Cthullu-eyes!

Nb: If Asuka is literally calling Mari 'glasses', what are the odds that the dub is likely to translate/localize that as 'four eyes' - I'm cool with that.
