I'm not completely sure about it, I can't really read Japanese after all, but apparently on 16 November they'll show the first 6 minutes and 38 seconds of Q on NTV :

I just sent the text to a translating site.
"The world premiere of six minutes and 38 seconds at the beginning of the Q: Rebuild of Evangelion!"
It seems as though you are, indeed, correct.

EDIT: Although, I'm not sure if it's tomorrow that this is happening.
Below colorful post, it reads:
9:00 by November 9
"TV version ordinal Evangelion"
and
9:00 by November 16
"Edition: 6 minutes and 38 seconds at the beginning Q TV Evangelion" +: "TV version fracture Evangelion"

I don't know what that means.

I think maybe they'll show it after whatever they have planned with T.V. Evangelion.
Please just call me Ian, "TheFrisky" is more of a title.

Apparently they're going be airing TV 1.0 and TV 2.0 in anticipation of Q, like so:

Friday, November 9th at 9 (PM I'd assume) for TV 1.0.

Friday, November 16th at 9 (again, PM?) for TV 2.0 plus the first 6 minutes and 38 seconds of Q (which is also being called "TV version" like 1.0 and 2.0 are).

That's certainly a difference in marketing the films! I wonder what's the chance of the first 6 minutes being uploaded online or if there's a way to watch online.

That's a pretty clever move to air the first 6 minutes the day before the theatrical debut--it'll leave the fans wanting more. My first assumption is maybe Q really would open up with that Asuka versus Angel battle, but at this point it's best not to assume anything.

Edit: Curious if the 6 minutes of TV 3.0 will be different from theatrical 3.0.

Thanks for the confirmation, SSD. Apparently I'm crazy enough to exchange November with October, I've edited the first post and changed the title.

Anno uses surprise marketing move! It's super effective! I'm stoked that things are finally on the faster end of moving forward, despite having a quite a ways to go before I can actually see the film in quality, but it's better than nothing! Hanging in limbo for a while there had become a bit dull, though I suppose that's what Shinji's been doing for a while in Unit-01, huh? :P

If it's broadcast on TV, it wouldn't be much of a problem for someone to record it and put it online, where it would eventually get fan-subbed.

I'm 99.44% sure that it'll be uploaded within 48 hours of airing.

48 hours? Nonsense.

It will be up within 5 minutes. The capping/encoding/pirating community is a well oiled and efficient machine. Processing power and bandwidth have never been cheaper or faster. HD encodes of 1 hour shows go up within 10-20 minutes after airing.

This is barely 7 minutes long. It will be uploaded before anyone has a chance to rewatch it.

EDIT:you'll also probably find dozens of streams to watch it live.

This is a win-win decision for Khara and NTV, most of all for not-JPNese like me let being feed with quite a big morcel of Q sooner than expected. Internet do not fail me!

Bad news for the me who was doing a pretty good job of keeping my enthusiasm under control to the point of feeling very confident about being able to wait to see the movie for the first time in a theater rather than as a lousy camrip.

I think even the most sceptical of Eva fans must now admit that Studio Khara has DEFINITELY animated, voiced, and edited at least 6 minutes and 38 seconds of Evangelion 3.0. Let's hope they finish the rest of the movie in time!

Yeah, I remember the TV version Next Time Previews for 2.0 and 3.0 were uploaded in less than an hour of 1.0's/2.0's TV airing.

Very cool! This possibly explains the lack of traditional advertising, at least in part. If you're going to release 6:38 of the movie ahead of time, a trailer would just be overkill.

I'll check it out and not feel guilty. It's not a leak or anything -- if the creators think that showing us this much ahead of time is OK, that's good by me. Here's hoping that the clip ends on such a glorious cliffhanger that showing us ANYTHING more would ruin the surprise...

Gundam Unicorn did the same with the last episode showing the first 7 minutes or so.

Wow, suddenly I'm stoked.

I couldn't stop laughing. But in a way, Khara has been slow enough with Q that I could half-believe this if it was any more than a joke.

In any case...
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES
7 minutes of glorious Q, uploaded nearly instantly (probably, thanks to our pirate-y friends) and subbed probably a week later. I can hardly wait.
