Does anyone know what the Latin(? I think) in the OP song (speicifically, version 2 with the three girls) and Tamashii no Rufuran means?

iiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeehhhhhhh"

Never sounded like Latin to me. Is it even from a real language, or just "mystical"-sounding gibberish?

I suppose if you list the lyrics, I could have a go at them. But I don't remember any Latin words in the songs. Could have just been a lack of listening on my behalf, I suppose.

The stuff in Rufuran just sounds like "EeeeehhhAaaaaahhhIiiiiieeeEeeeeehhh"-ing, as Hexon.Arq put it, but the stuff in Thesis actually sounds like it might possibly be lyrics of some sort, although I have no idea what language it is.

Heh, this is what These's chorus sounds like to me... (Vowels are Japanese-style.)

Sariya (ariya)
Sedamexo (sedamexo)
Sariya
Huse~

Sounds like no language with which I have the slightest familiarity.

In Rufuran, there actually are distinct syllables. Sounds Japanese. Best guess:

rekka
ine
shita
ishi

Which makes no sense, really (conflagration, rice plant, tongue or below, stone), but YOU think of something better!

Of course we do. A stone under a burning ice plant--nothing could be cooler.

Until this hour, I thought the title song was entirely in Japanese. You never know.

As in making random noises to get a note easier eg "la-la", "ooo" for low bassy notes, like in "Escape to the Beginning"/"Hajimari e no Touhi". With that in mind, what ARE the lyrics in the second half of that song? I can hear bits of english.

FAR IN THE DISTANCE IS CAST A SHADOW
SYMBOL OF OUR FREEDOM WILL BRING US SALVATION
ON THE HORIZON HOPE FOR TOMORROW
SWEEPING ACROSS THE LAND TO GIVE US UNITY

LOOK TO THE HEAVENS WITH TEARS OF TRIUMPH
TO CHERISH A NEW LIFE AND SUFFER NOT AGAIN
LIFT UP YOUR SPIRITS FROM ALL DESTRUCTION
NEVER SHALL WE RETURN FROM CONFLICT WE MUST LEARN

How is it Engrishy? Minus perhaps a couple of commas, it is perfectly acceptable verse, unless I'm forgetting something.

Would you mind putting up all the lyrics to "Escape~"? I can only hear some of it. >_<

Anyway, maybe my hearing sucks but this is what I hear in the instrumental Misato/Asuka/Rei version of teeze, keep in mind I'm writing it phonetically, Japanese vowel style:

Maria (Maria)
Seila meso (seila meso)
Maria (tu sei)

There aren't any other lyrics.

The singing here is the same as in the Takahashi version, FYI.

Maria (Maria)

The first time, I hear a distinct "s", although it's not in the two reiterations.

Seila meso (seila meso)

That works. If you're going for Latin, perhaps sella (seat or chair)? No idea about the other one. Sella meso sounds Italian or something.

Maria (tu sei)

I'm not hearing any "hard" sounds (for lack of a better term) before that "u". If there's any consonant at all, it sounds like a Japanese f to me, which could be interpreted as an English-style f or h.

I like the Takahashi version better...

I forgot that's in there. What throws me off I guess is after that chorus in Main 2, it suddenly goes into these claps...The Takahashi version/Main 1 doesn't have that.

You mean sometime like fu sei instead of tu sei? That works, too. *shrug* I dunno, maybe it is Latin or Italian or something. Maybe we should try crappy Babelfish and see what that comes up with?

Never mind...I clearly wasn't paying attention when writing that. :P

Edit:

I forgot to mention, but here's what I hear in Tamashii:
meka
verei
iina
ishi

*shrug*

Edit teh second: Come to think of it, is something also being said in Thanatos~If I Can't Be Yours or am I just hearing things?
