Excellent, although it ranks behind another forum I frequent which was made to look like a place to discuss gay porn. Mugwump would have been thrilled.

I demand a link to this simulated debauchery!

And what do Jimbo pants offer me, to justify the outrageous asking price?
"Now, from Nature we obtain abundant information about ourselves, and precious little about others. About the woman you clasp in your arms, can you say with certainty that she does not feign pleasure? About the woman you mistreat, are you quite sure that from abuse she does not derive some obscure and lascivious satisfaction? Let us confine ourselves to simple evidence: through thoughtfulness, gentleness, concern for the feelings of others we saddle our own pleasure with restrictions, and make this sacrifice to obtain a doubtful result." -The Divine Marquis

If you put them on you travel through interstellar space and time and get a peek into my brain, just like in the film Being John Malkovich! My pants are to me what Samson's hair was to him. That's why I can't post in the nude and I lose 100 IQ points when I masturbate.

Sadly it's not up any more. The "joke committee" failed to get it okay'd with all of the admins and someone felt their authority wasn't being respected...

From what I can remember, the banner was five guys in various states of undress with the tagline "It's Fabulous!" And the color scheme was pink and purple.

Very nice. I would have fallen for it if I didn't see the URL at the top.
Also, theartoftrolling.com had a pretty good April Fool's joke too: everything's upside down.
Ritsuko: It can't be...an Angel devoured an Eva? That's impossible!
Maya: That's strange. The target's identification signal is turning into Zerogouki's!

At first I was pissed off that the site had possibly gone down, than I read the top and laughed.
Well played.

You know, since this is Evangelion, the joke is kind of genius. Pretty funny, I must say.

View Original PostOrnette wrote:I started messing with this maybe around 23:30 EST, so if you got the cookie "evageeksforums_aprilfools" then you're not going to see the fake forum. There was a lot of little kinks that needed working out and I had to test it against the live forum, so some people may have gotten screwed out of the joke and some may have gotten to see the fake forum page too early.

Basically, the forums now do an extra check to see if you have that aprilfools cookie, if not, it saves where you tried to go on the forums (like the anime subforum for example) then it redirects you to a fake forum page. That page will automatically redirect you back to the forums in 60 seconds, or you can click any link on the page. When you get redirected, it first gives you the aprilfools cookie so you don't have to see the fake forum every time you click a forum link, and it looks at where you tried to go on the forums in the first place and redirects you there (like the anime subforum) instead of just the main index. The forum also checks your user-agent to see if it is an indexing bot (like Google), and if it is, it doesn't bother with the fake forum at all.

Thanks Ornette. Now I know why I missed the original joke. I just opened a bunch of EGF tabs and let them load while I looked at something else. When I came back the only thing I noticed was they all went to that particular page of the Puella Magi Madoka Magika thread and I was puzzled. I only realized why it was so when I bumped into this thread....
I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,
But I discovered Re-Take (or it found me?) and

I completely forgot it was April Fool's Day, and thought it was just a random joke. Well played on making it a "Psychology, and self help forum."

Awesome joke, I came here right about 1 am 4/1 and saw it. Most April Fools' jokes are yawn-worthy, this one was actually funny.

It was a pretty good joke (I still liked my idea better  ) Best one I ran into was TokyoTosho's.

A side-effect of the redirection seems to be that the forum disappeared from my "frequently visited" tab in Firefox, and won't come back there :(

Nice, I like last years one better but with all the SOPA stuff it fits.

On/Off for the last couple of weeks I've been thinking "I hope the EvaGeeks site staff remembers to do an April Fool's page again this year, last year's was real good'"... But in the last couple of days I'd forgotten about April's Fools day, so when I saw the image as the index page I thought "Oh Noes / I'd better get on #EGF and ask about this" but then it went away and I was like "Oh"
