GoS 2 install help? Onegai? :(

Hmmm....would I have to install this the same way I installed GoS 1? What I did was have ALL the files in one folder and was able to play the game that way.
Either way, because the install instructions aren't even at least in Japanese but some weird gribbish (guess my computer can't read the Kanji and Kana?) I can't install it.

Thankies! ^_^

P.S: By the way, I just got Volume 3 today of the manga ("Angelic Days") and it rocks. Of course. ^_^ Though I was able to read the scanaltions of it up to Vol.4 ch. 1, it seems like this translation is done well...Though some things are Amercianzed, such as how Asuka orginally tells Shinji to meditate on the Kanji for people several times while it's changed to something about him taking a few deep breaths before his concert or something strange like that. >_< Also, it bothers me how honorfics aren't used in this (and their aren't any color pages!), but oh well.

I've never played either, but nonetheless that's a moot point. What kind of files are they, if you could give me a list of all the files (if their aren't a lot), or possibly just some of the file extensions (.iso; .exe; .rar; ect) I can help you out.

Well, I had to extract it using a non-winzip program because they were in .iso form.

An .ISO is an image file. Meaning it's meant to be put on CD/DVDs and it auto loads and such. Sometimes the .ISO has to be viewed on a CD to work correctly. So there's two things you can do, run it via a program like DaemonTools. The other option would be burning the the image to a CD. But you would have to the burn the .ISO as an image, simply putting it on a CD won't do.

Daemon Tools is the easier way, simple download, install, right click on the system tray icon, and mount the .ISO, and then your done. Might have to go to My Computer and find the fake drive it makes and double click it.

I think I tired installing that before and it didn't do squat. >_< Maybe I found an old crappy version of that?

Yeah, that's real fucking helpful..

Anyway, try installing Daemon Tools and if that doesn't help, tell me...

Sorry if I didn't mention this before, but I already extracted the .iso files, the only thing I need to do now is install it, so I don't know if I should just put ALL the extracted files into one folder (which I did for GoS1 and it worked perfectly fine ^_^), so...yeah.

In terms of the .iso file itself, I *think* I deleted that after extracting, but I'm not certain. (I haven't been on my computer in the past few days.)

Thanks for your help so far!
And btw, with the character voices in the game, ARE they done by the seiyuu as GoS1 is, or is it tottally new actors? 'Cause I've heard both views so I'm rather "kornfused." >_<

hmm, can you just go into that folder and click on "Setup.exe" or is it a bunch of weird files?

The reason for daemontools is that it takes your iso file and pretends it's mounted as a drive, like drive F:, so that you can startup the game as if it were on a CD in a CDROM drive, since some games require you to have the CD in you computer in order to play it.

I CAN do Setup.exe, but the problem is when I do, it's all this gribbish (not even Kanji or Kana) and it doesn't let me install the game no matter what type of option I select. *sigh* Having an idea of what it says would probably help... >_< That's why I'm thinking maybe having ALL the files in one folder would help, but I dunno. *ponders*

You have all the intl fonts installed? (if that stinks, it's because I pulled it out of my ass, I don't know anything about windows)

So I decided to just redownload these files (so I can have the acutal .iso file instead of what I already extracted) and install the way y'all recommended. I'll let you know what happens. :) *crosses fingers*

Gah. >_< I'm STILL running into the same problems, despite installing this and following what Millions Livio wrote!
Here, I screencapped it so you can see what's happening, regardless of WHAT drive I try to save this in!

you could always try using a Japanese text viewer to help see the characters in the error message, then translate them. Other then that, I can't recomend much. I had a similar problem when installing GoS, and I found that using the install that still required the disk to be in when playing allowed it to work fine.

I just had a thought. I'm wondering if creating a new folder and then saving the info there when the game askes to install will help...

Hmm...I must try that sometime this week.

Are there any similar programs like the one you posted, TBK, except freeware?

I remember installing the "first disc" off my HD... but I burnt the "second disc" to an actual disc and then popped that in when it asked for it.
