[Music] Songs on repeat

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

The songs that I keep listening to are "Moon Over The Castle" (Gran Turismo soundtrack), "Engel" by Rammstein (which I have nicknamed "Asuka's Song"), "Breaking the Habit" by Linkin Park, "Night of the Hunter" by 30 Seconds to Mars, "Aces High" by Iron Maiden (it makes me think of classic F1) and "Spitfire" by The Prodigy (which I have nicknamed "Mari's Song").

That AMV has always bothered me. Not that it's bad, but rather "Engel" being perfectly natural for Rei or even Kaworu while completely unsuited to Asuka. Meanwhile "Mutter" might as well be Asuka's image song.
Nothing is so valuable that it need not be started afresh, nothing is so rich that it need not be enriched constantly.

implying people on average pay attention to lyrics beyond "Engel = Angel lololol"

I can't tell why if asked but last two days I've listened a lot to the King. But really, likes of Marie's The Name His Latest Flame are still such fine songs...

I've listened to the Phantom of the Opera's overture, Groovin' Magic from Diebuster, the EoE soundtrack's arrangement of Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude, that song from Utena that plays when Akio's driving his car, Tsubasa o Kudasai from the Rebuild soundtrack, and various Lady Gaga songs on repeat.

Is that weird?

^ I did the same for some of the songs/music at various times myself.... I guess all the titles above share some potential of getting people addicted to listening to them....
I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,
But I discovered Re-Take (or it found me?) and
now here I am.

^ I count myself as Jazz fans too, though my attention has moved to something else these days. Perhaps not a single "song" but it is easy to put a Jazz album in its entirety on repeat (as is often done in parties or cafes). I have done this quite a few times before -- though that was when I was alone by myself.

Listening to Rubber Soul and Revolver A LOT in the past 2 days. Probably because I've been busy dealing with important things and need something to help me stay relaxed.

Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream.

I am stuck in a rick roll loop, and the song is pretty catchy
"This is for the record. History is written by the victor. History is filled with liars. If he lives, and we die, his truth becomes written - and ours is lost..." -- Cpt. Price
"Damn the torpedoes" -- ADM Farragut
"I have not yet begun to fight!" -- Cpt. John Paul Jones
"Don't be alarmed, we're taking over the ship" -- Cpt. Jack Sparrow

I'm been in a kind of musical mood for kingdom hearts these past few days. Yoko Shimomura is up there IMO with Nobuo Uematsu as the greatest of video game composers. :)

I've mostly been listening to:

Dearly Beloved
The Encounter
Xion's Theme
Mysterious Figure's Theme

Sephiroth: "Too close to the brightness, and you may get scorched."
Golbz:.............

In my defense, it's only that song...

... thus far. And I guess it's probably better than "Gee."

Depends what is "better", in terms of longevity in your memory, "Gee" is probably better at that.

That AMV actually got me into Rammstein. It introduced me to music I'd considered repulsively guttural and violent through a franchise I was familiar and comfortable with.

It also helped I wasn't hearing it blasted and half-muffled through the next-door suite wall....

I liked the song well enough, since it had an interesting "X-Files" vibe at the bookends, and I followed up on the "suggested links" on the YouTube sidebar because, heck, it wasn't costing me anything...

"Amerika" and "Moskau" quickly got locked on repeat. iTunes foraging followed. ;)

And for something completely different on the repeat loop right now: "Raise Your Glass" by P!nk. It came on the car radio while I still had the stereo cranked, and I was bitten by the stomping vitality and life behind the chorus.

So just come on and
come on and
Raise your glass!
