Chaz, I must have had the biggest, dumbest looking grin on my face the whole time I read your Angel presentation.

It was absolutely adorable and quirky 10/10

I now bring to you an Eva entry by spirited newcomer Archaiel. Note that this one ties in with his entry in the LDC. Check out the illustrations too, they were recently added! Here goes:

Archaiel wrote:Name: Evangelion Unit 6.66 LCFL
Pilot: Kaiten Layne Raenifv
Size: Identical to other Eva Units (40m?)

Evangelion Unit 6.66 LCFL

(Side note, this one is actually 18x24" so it took a loooong time xD)

Personal Characterization:
Utterly savage. Any foe, Angel or Eva, shall dread the appearance of Unit LCFL. Its animosity immediately irradiates throughout its surroundings as a plague decimates all life in its path.

Background History:
Constructed by it’s pilot, Kaiten Layne Raenifv for the sole purpose of SEELE’s demise. Ironically the parts and funding were provided by SEELE under the assumption that it was being put entirely into developing the “Mark” method of Eva construction when only a mere fraction actually was. The technology used in it’s construction was developed by Kaiten and includes an S^2 engine, AT Field manipulation conduits, and a unique OS that allows all of it’s systems to be activated, deactivated, and monitored from inside the entry plug eliminating the need of facilities to do so. This also prevents any organization from containing or initiating any form of contact with LCFL, however Kaiten can establish contact. LCFL was made virtually undetectable and untraceable to enable it’s purpose of being Kaiten’s “Deus Ex Machina”. Future plans for LCFL are unknown at this point however Kaiten was able to communicate with his mother before she volunteered for the contact experiment. The two shared the same goals and had the same motivation to act so any conflict of interest between the pilot and the residing soul have been eliminated, increasing the potential power synchronizing can achieve.

Physical Description:
An image of a celestial being; a savior. Although, looks can be deceiving....

Image
Concept profile sketch depicting the multiple layers of armor on 6.66 LCFL's head
-Blue- Faceplate and Upper Jaw
-Lime- Lower Jaw
-Red- Cockpit reminiscent visor (extends under the frill to back of head)
-Orange- Frill, Protruding antennae/horns, and inner "wing" head casing
-Purple- Outer "wing" head casing
-Green- Rear helmet frill/rim

Adorned in silver armor with black, various blues, and purple for accent colors. The face of LCFL is covered by a mask of numerous ovular and diamond shaped lenses to form a visor. Incorporated into the lower mask lenses are exhaust vents. The lenses open out from the cheek while the side toward the center of the face remains fixed, revealing the vents that allow the release of LCFL’s breath when vocalizing. On the forehead is an extension of the visor, its shape is reminiscent of a jets’ windshield/cockpit and it shields the only visible eye. Various wings adorn the head and in conjunction with the four antennae, the image of a crested helmet emerges.
The pylons are unique; unlike conventional pylons which protrude upwards, these protrude diagonally backwards at a 45 degree angle. Emerging from the otherwise un-utilized area of the back around the entry plug are more thrusters that wrap around the torso/ribs/underarm area, opening toward the front of the eva to provide thrust for quick reverse movements. In addition the energy outlet is replaced with a central thruster. The torso is covered by armor reminiscent of Unit 01 but with an additional V-plate as Mark.06 has.

Abilities:
-AT Field Manipulation: ***Information placed in area of it’s respective use***

-Thrusters: Reminiscent of conventional thrusters in design although functionally significantly different. The actual method of propulsion is a concentrated burst from it’s AT Field. So in theory every thruster on LCFL isn’t actually a thruster but conduit to focus the AT Field for the purpose of propulsion.

Defenses:
-AT Field Performance: Slightly above-average defensive capabilities (i.e. Ballistic weaponry is rendered useless and N2 missiles do minimal to moderate damage).

-Armor Specs: Lighter and thinner than the normal armor of an Eva. This decision was made in collaboration with the idea of agility although it also compromises the durability.

-Regenerative Abilities: Slight regenerative abilities. Wounds (such as cuts and abrasive marks) inflicted upon heal immediately while larger wounds coagulate at an increased rate. Any dismembering however does not heal.

Offenses:
-Seraph Sword: At roughly 5x the size of progressive knives these blades are the primary melee offense of LCFL. In actuality the blades are nothing but a manipulation of the AT Field so they actually are not stored anywhere although the mechanism to form the blade resides in the forearm. A close range weapon that would seem inefficient however when coupled with LCFL’s speed, the blades become incredibly lethal. Capable of cleaving an Angels’ core in half and easily compromising an AT Field.

-Claws: A weapon of last resort. Small blades that adorn the fingertips. Used only for tearing apart its opponent or piercing through it in hand to hand combat. Capable of tearing armor off with more ease than normal (i.e. Normal being Eva 01 ripping off Unit 03/Bardiels’ chest plate)

Misc Abilities:
-Super Solenoid Engine
-Vastly Increased Agility

Combat Skills / Strategies:
No holds barred, no mercy shown. LCFL utilizes an extensive array of evasive maneuvers while simultaneously striking her opponent. The strategies LCFL employs varies and often within a battle the different strategies contradict each other. For example, LCFL will preemptively strike one minute, but then wait for the foe to strike, evade and then counter the next; a gesture to show complete dominance and belittling the foe. Most of the time however, LCFL will abandon strategy, rush her opponent using her superior speed to evade assaults, and completely overwhelm the foe as well as using her trusters to increase the damage potential of her attacks (kinetic energy and all).
Once LCFL activates/goes into Awakening/Berserk mode the defensive and offensive properties of her AT Field skyrocket (naturally) although there is a tendency for instability.
Although incredibly fast and above average strength LCFL has two significant weaknesses: one being her armor is roughly 75% the strength of all other Eva’s and the second being her erratic behavior. It’s not a flawless model by any means but it is a very formidable foe.

Very interesting indeed.

I'm curious, what makes you say that? Oh gawd can you imagine a Skynet system in conjunction with an Eva? 10 mins and everything would be dead

Holy Diver wrote:General Data:
Name and Title: Belial, Angel of Hostility
Size Measurements: Hibernation form: Approximately 10ft tall. Angel form: 450 meters long, wingspan of 130 meters.
Class Ranking: A-Class
Type: Hibernation form: Mental infiltrator and manipulator. Angel form: Direct/aerial attacker and mental infiltrator.

References: My Angel had two main sources of inspiration. The first was the legend of the demon Belial and his interpretation as a leader of an evil host in the ancient Hebrew text, The War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness. This correlates to my Angel’s hibernation form as manipulator of men and bringer of war. The second was the Norse myth of the dragon Níðhöggr. Níðhöggr is said to emerge after Ragnarok, the “end times” of Norse Paganism to bring chaos and evil back into the world.

Personal Characterization / Background History: Before she was incapacitated by her Lance of Longinus, Adam managed to give birth to one child. This child was named Belial. In the chaos of First Impact, where Lilith crashed upon the earth, Belial was separated from Adam as she was skewered by her Lance. Belial was forcibly cast from her side and landed in what would become a large cave complex in what is now the Sinai Peninsula.

For four billion years he sat there in exile. As time passed on, Belial saw Lilith’s creatures steal the world that had been promised to his kind. He came to blame her and her kind for misfortune he suffered, and felt nothing but absolute hatred for her progeny. The most hated of all, however, were the Humans, for they had no qualms about abusing the world that they stole. Belial became convinced that Humanity was a cancer upon the world, and, that the entire human race must be destroyed. Fortunately for mankind, Belial was greatly weakened by his traumatic experiences during First Impact and his physical form went into a state of hibernation. In his hibernation form, Belial was unable to personally bring ruin upon humanity until he was able to store up energy for a return to his normal form. In the meantime, he contented himself with an alternate means of bringing havoc to the Lilim.

Belial would telepathically reach out to human passersby and call them down into the vast subterranean network of caves that had formed around him. He would sadistically toy with them and lead them down constantly changing tunnels. Many lost their ways and either met their ends through injury or starvation, but those who survived made it to the central cavern where the fallen Angel rested. And there, Belial would force all who managed to come before him to face that black abyss that exists within all human hearts. He pokes and prods the deepest recesses of his victim’s minds. All of one’s deepest desires, hatreds, jealousies, insecurities, and fears are laid bare before him. Belial then manipulates this information and uses deception to bind his victims to his will. All who come before him are transformed into monsters, twisted by the horror of having their minds invaded by Belial’s malicious, alien intelligence.

After the brainwashing is complete, Belial then sends his agents into the world to wreak havoc upon their fellow Lilim and their society. Through them, he enacted the sort of violence and destruction that he wished to personally inflict upon all of Lilith’s progeny. Most of them just became petty criminals, engaging in murder, arson, rape, or any number of violent acts. However, a select few were allowed to do much more. Belial would occasionally obtain influence over individuals possessing great power, wealth, or charisma. With them, he would bring even greater suffering upon the Lilim through warfare and poverty. He also used his victims to obtain intel on the world around him.

In 2001 during the events of Second Impact, Belial sensed that Adam had been awakened and that other Angels like himself were created. This was his big chance to bring about the change he sought. Through one of his previous victims, Belial learned of Seele and the Evangelion project, the two great obstacles standing in the way of the Angels reuniting with Adam and bringing an end to the dominion of the Lilim over Earth. Belial decided to raise an army of Lilim to try and neutralize these threats.

The key in his plan was the terrorist “Abdul-Aziz”. Belial manipulated and deceived this man into raising a terrorist army to fight against Seele. Through this pawn, Belial attempted to sabotage the Evangelion project and ease the path for his Angelic bretheren. Over Belial’s cave network, Abdul built a fortress for his Abna' alzlam terrorist group. All new recruits to the organization were taken down to Belial’s cavern and subsequently brainwashed into being both obedient servants for Belial and Abdul, and agents of destruction.

Seele, through the UN, eventually brought its full weight down upon Abna’ alzlam and surrounded the fortress in 2015. After a bloody siege, the UN assaulted the compound and slew everyone inside. However, their victory was short-lived. As the assault began, Belial realized that Third Impact and Instrumentality were now bound to happen, and began the metamorphosis into his full form. He arose from the ruin like an avenging spirit. His AT-field burned with the rage and turned the tanks of the UN forces into molten slag. His psychic energies, long held in restraint, were fully unleashed against the soldiers below. He turned the fellow soldiers against each other as the battlefield was transformed into an orgy of slaughter and destruction. Thus, the entire UN detachment that destroyed Abna’ alzlam was in turn annihilated by the wrath of Belial. He then retreated into low orbit where he presently waits for his opportunity to strike down Humanity once and for all.

Physical Description: Belial’s hibernation form took the shape of a 10 foot tall equilateral square pyramid. Its sides appeared to be made of a sort of blue-green glassy material. Belial’s form was covered in fractures and cracks that seemed to continually shift and move across its body. Occasionally, these cracks would coalesce into complex geometric designs with appearances similar to sigils or mandalas. An unearthly grey light seemed to shine forth from within the pyramid. However, the most striking feature of Belial was the glaring red eye that sat atop of the apex of the pyramid. Set within this eye was his core.

Belial’s full form was similar in appearance to a large, slender serpent. His body was covered in armored plates of the same material that made up his hibernation pyramid. Two rows of chalky white claws line the length of his underbelly. Two black, leathery wings extend from his back. His head was of a vaguely triangular shape that resembled the head of the dragons of myth. Within his forehead, sat the same all-seeing eye/core that occupied the top of the pyramid.

Abilities: Belial is capable of invading and corrupting the minds of Lilim. Once corruption is complete, Belial can influence the Lilim into serving his will. It isn’t a system of direct control by any means. Rather, Belial simply suggests that his servant carry out a deed. If the suggestion is ignored, Belial makes the suggestion again. Each time he is ignored, his presence in the Lilim becomes stronger and stronger until the victim’s will breaks and carries out the deed.

AT-Field Performance: Belial’s AT-field enables him to probe the minds of others in a fashion similar to the Angel Arael. The fact that he lures humans into his immediate vicinity before probing suggests that this ability has a very short range. The AT-field also can produce a heat-based offensive attack. Otherwise, the full capacity of his AT-field’s performance is unknown and would best be approached with caution.

Armor Type: The hibernation form of Belial was made of a hard, glassy material that would have provided a good defense. However, Belial’s core was situated in the eye that floated above its pyramid-shaped body. As such, it would have been highly vulnerable to attack. As for his full form, Belial’s serpentine form was covered in plates of the same glassy material and would likely provide a good defense.

Regenerative abilities: Belial’s regenerative abilities are, as of this time, unknown. Though, it can be presumed that they are similar to other angels within his class ranking.

Offenses: In his hibernation, he had no direct means of engaging in combat. However, his full form seems well suited for dealing direct damage. Given his imposing size, claws, teeth, AT-field, and psychic abilities, he can deal out an impressive amount of offensive damage.

Miscellaneous other abilities: When Belial corrupts and converts a human host, he establishes a sort of mental link between himself and the host. This mental link allows Belial to obtain sensory information from his agents.

Combat skills and strategies: In his hibernation form, Belial avoided all forms of combat. However, if he were to have been attacked, he would simply have reached into the mind of his attacker and broadcast waves of hostility and hatred into the psyche of his foe. Then Belial would be free to do as he pleased with the downed enemy. Belial’s newly risen full form has increased combat ability. Not only is he a physically powerful angel, but he retains the same psychic powers as before. It is likely that he would use his mental prowess and physical strength in tandem during battle.

Now things make sense after reading Abdul-Aziz's profile!

Awesome! Poo, I was gonna use Belial for next year :/.... it's all good though! It was my understanding however that Belial was a fallen angel who served Lucifer as one of the four kings of Hell and whos name roughly meant "useless to god".... well with so many differing texts I guess nothing is technically wrong. Great job man.

More or less. The fact that Humanity was so careless about the world that was supposed to belong to Angelkind helped to influence his "Destroy all humans" attitude.

Thank you Archaiel! Yeah, a lot of Judeo-Christian texts assign contradictory roles to different beings. And if you really want to make another Belial next year, be my guest.

History
The failure of Evangelion Unit 04, an unpredicted catastrophe, sent immense shockwaves through the structures of Nerv. The direct removal and reimplementation of an S2 Organ from an Angel to an Evangelion was now no longer foolproof, if not impossible altogether. Although the organ itself was lost, the data had been backed up in Germany, and subsequent construction of artificial S2 Engines commenced almost immediately, for the Umbilical Cable generation of Evangelions cannot finish the Instrumentality project. Initially, Units 05, 06 and beyond were to be powered by the new Engine, but when Unit 01 went berserk and consumed the Organ of the Fourteenth Angel, things drastically changed again. The power of the demigod of Unit 01 meant that it could carry much of the load of Instrumentality alone, and extremely powerful new Evangelions were no longer needed. Thus began the simultaneous construction of the Mass Produced Evangelions. The Instrumentality Committee, however, dared not unleash the power of Unit 01 prematurely, and placed it in refrigeration. As Unit 02’s pilot rapidly collapsed psychologically, it was evident that a future Angel attack could ruin all human plans by initiating an Angelic Third Impact. Thus, the prototype of the Mass-Produced series, Unit 05, became a target for retrofitting into a combat unit.
The new blueprint for the so-called Unit 05 α was essentially the implementation of F-Type equipment onto the Eva. Although it was a state of the art piece of technology, its original purpose was not for combat. As a result, the design heavily overcompensated with massive firepower. The idea was to create external hard points on the armor where conventional weapons can be loaded en masse , as well as less conventional weapons in extreme cases—its bazooka is capable of mounting both a thermonuclear and an N2 weapon. Guided explosives, in fact, constitute a large part of its arsenal, as its A.T. Field’s combat capability is largely inferior to those of standard Evangelions. All of its hard points can mount small guided missile launcher packs, and its back, shoulder and leg hard points can mount 200 tube unguided rocket launchers. Its shoulder hard points can clip on a pair of heavy 150 mm Autocannons, which is no joke when fired at high speeds. A gigantic 7,000 mm long range cannon was proposed as a viable weapon but rejected due to cost concerns and the lack of need. One weapon that was built was a bazooka meant to launch 10,000 kg high explosive rockets or N2 Warheads. In addition to its F-Type weapons and the entire normal Evangelion arsenal, it also has a prototype Replica Lance of Longinus, which, due to its incomplete status, is not very reliable and not often used. (The standard assault rifle for this Eva also has a grenade launcher attachment that fires RPG rounds as well.) It has wings, as all Mass-Produced Evangelions, but due to all the extra equipment, it cannot fly at all, only jump about like a lame duck and glide for a short distance. Its wings were, however, left on because they were needed for the Instrumentality Project.
Despite its impressive arsenal, the 05 α is essentially still a prototype, and its combat functions remain iffy, as well as its combat pilot, Vlore Chani, a former child prostitute in the lawless regions of post-2I Eastern Europe who, though born into a researcher’s family, was left orphaned by the collapse of law and order after Second Impact. Though later tracked down and retaken by Nerv, the psychological damage endured during this time period remains. Thus, she was reduced to backup status until the need arose for a pilot to take the controls of the 05 α, as the Dummy Plug was yet immature and not suited for combat, a flaw that it retained until the end. After Unit 01 eliminated the final Angel, a repaired Unit 05 α, having been critically damaged during its battle with a rogue Angel in Berlin, was deactivated, disarmed and returned to service as a regular Mass Produced Evangelion. Thanks to its brief service, many glitches and wrinkles in the Mass Produced systems were smoothed out in preparation for humanity’s final step up the evolutionary ladder.
Battle with the rogue Angel
From the Eva’s Point of View
“Unit 05, do you read me?” the station commander’s frantic voice called. Vlore shut off the comm. channel, Leo’s crushed torso playing before her eyes. She was shivering, her arms around herself protectively, like a girl she’d seen right before she was strangled. She had been bought, and the client didn’t want to keep her. Vlore suddenly found the thick LCL nauseating, disgusting, and smelling like blood, with a texture that brought back memories of filthy acts. Leo was gone, the only person after her father to show any care for her. Sure, he was just doing his job, but even that was more than she could ever remember. Now he was crushed in rubble, and the thing in the sky was slicing even more deep gaps into the city. Killing more men like Leo. It might even kill her.
The ceiling shattered, and an asphyxiating pressure fell upon Unit 05. A bony, birdlike face descended into the Cage area, flanked by a beautiful, crystalline body that sparkled like so many diamonds. It looked at her for a moment, and then a shiny Core came into view. A band of light raced over it, and it flashed, gathering energy to fire a beam directly into Vlore’s face.
“GET OFF OF ME!” she screamed. The A.T. Field rippled, and the beam bounced off, gauging the Angel’s faceplate. It shrieked and pulled up in the blink of an eye. The Cage’s restraints were vaporized in a cross-shaped blast that came from the Eva, which catapulted from underground on its A.T. Field and crashed onto the ground, skidding through blocks of streets. The Angel sped by overhead, spraying the air with beams. Vlore ducked behind a building, the action made difficult by the layers of armor on her Eva, and felt the structure shudder as it was torn apart by the beams. She had her small missile launchers, and she didn’t need the weight. Another wave of A.T. Field energy sent her skywards, where bright orange targeting circles closed by the dozen over the Angel’s Core on her display. One hundred missiles broke apart the red caps that kept them in their launchers and formed a rain of afterburner trails, all of them curving through the air and striking the target. The first dozen or so were stopped by the Angel’s Field, the remainder was not. The Angel folded up with lightning speed, taking the damage on its body rather than its Core. Oily smoke billowed from many pockmarks blown by the missiles, though the Angel’s structure held well. Crystal showered the ground, and the Angel continued to shriek, firing another salvo seemingly blindly—one of its eyeholes was gouged out—into the air. Several ejected launchers were liquefied on the spot, and Unit 05’s chest armor now sported a glowing yellow-white trail. Vlore clapped her hands to her chest and gasped, feeling the branding through the Eva’s nervous system. The Angel was speeding away into the air, dodging a pair of Luftwaffe Typhoons that launched another all out missile barrage at it, which the Angel’s AT Field took easily without Unit 05’s Field interfering. As Vlore watched, a pair of beams lanced out and cut both Typhoons into halves. Over the intercom, she could hear the pilots’ screams, the halves of the planes falling too fast for them to eject. It felt like one of those gang wars that often occurred in the streets of the brothel, where cocaine-filled men slaughtered each other in the open with AK-47s. Some of those killed had been kinder to her than the rest.
“Get back here!” she screamed. “Base, get me the positron cannon!”
“We can’t send it up,” a voice replied. “It’ll be in Armory 7, so get it, quick!”
‘Shit!’
Nerv-Berlin, unequipped for combat, had none of Japan’s intricate support systems that launched weapons to the surface in seconds. Vlore crashed through piles of rubble, tore Armory 7’s gate apart with her Eva’s bare hands, and smashed an emergency release button. The rifle had one shot stored in a battery, and she didn’t have time to plug in the power cable. The roof of the base was wide open, the Angel clearly visible engaged with the German military.
“Damn it, this is Cherub One, get your assets away from the Bandit, but keep the Bandit itself still!” she barked into the army channel.
“Cherub One, copy; retreating,” the commander said. As she sighted the Angel in her scope, the Typhoons pulled up into the sky. She could not miss…
The Angel was moving too quickly, she found. But it halted for a bare moment, during which, crossing her fingers, she pulled the trigger. The right wing of the Angel blazed purple as the positron beam struck it, the A.T. Field folding easily under the beam’s assault. The beam decomposed the crystal structure, causing the wing to literally disintegrate. She had missed the Core, but at least she hit something. Thanks to the army, the Angel had not been moving as much as it should have been, perhaps searching out Unit 05. Its balance destroyed, the Angel spiraled, still howling, to the ground. Vlore threw away the rifle and snatched her bazooka. The ten-thousand kilogram explosives winked at her, promising sweet, sweet revenge.
“You’re finished,” she growled. This was payback, payback for all the destruction, all the pain and all the suffering that she went through because the Angels existed. With an earth-shaking tremor, Unit 05 leapt back into the air, rejoining the battle.
(To be continued with the Angel’s point of view.)

Splendid! Much better to read! Stay tuned for the conclusion!

Archaiel, when I get around to it, may I use your Eva for an avatar? It is really, really cool.

Hmmm, I don't see why not Stryker. As long as I am given credit when people ask about it. I was going to use it but I can easily draw another picture so go ahead man! Oh and thanks for the compliment! :woohoo:

I would not say that so fast. You've come a Goddamn long way from where you were when you made your Eva from the last Contest. I can easily see that you've been honing your craft in the intervening year. Unit 5-Alpha seems to be a much more streamlined take on your Unit-4 HTCP with similar themes. I like this new model that you've shown us a lot more, however, because it seems to have more character and more ruggedness. Simply splendid job!

We now continue with our Presentations with the final segment of tehprognoob's sordid saga.

Long ago, many eons before its bitter conflict with the Lilim, the Angel Arael had been at great conflict with itself. The Angel of Birds is as much a flawed sentient creature as any other creature. Within itself were two opposing forces, a hawk and a dove; the hawk, by nature, is a fierce soul, utterly devoted to aggression, while the dove is an amiable fellow, whose mind, though utterly alien and frightening to a human observer, is but a natural inquirer. The battle within the embryonic Angel grew to such fierce extremes that a split occurred in the very heart of Arael’s Soul. This split guaranteed a crucial stability to the Angel. The result was two diminished creatures, each with its own consciousness. Unlike the case of Israfael, the split was not backed up by a link, for the Souls have broken ranks completely. The new Angel, born of Arael, came to be known as Artemisael, after the Greek Goddess of the Hunt. An appropriate name, for this Angel is very much a hunter.
Though it hunts, it is not interested at all in the search for the First Angel, its creator of sorts. Perfection would only make it lose its aggression, the element that defines Artemisael as a separate entity from Arael. For this reason, Artemisael struggles bitterly, though hopelessly, against all those who seek to complement with their creators. The Angels were not too hard to manage, for they lay dormant, but the Lilim are most troubling, as they have created equals of Adam and used them to destroy Angels one by one. Artemisael watched in horror as Zeruel, strongest of all Angels, whom Artemisael had thought plenty enough to destroy the Lilim, died between the teeth of that monstrous imitation of Lilith. Artemisael had cringed as Zeruel’s screams permeated the mysterious mental link among all Angels. The Lilim had to be stopped, for if they weren’t, they would certainly stumble across the path to Perfection and be tempted by their indomitable curiosity to explore the path of no return. Thus, though he had tolerated the Lilim for eons, they being of no interest to him, Artemisael went on a war path to eradicate them.
Like its predecessor, Artemisael is almost transparent, with wide-spread wings and a Core located in between a pair of small, claw-like legs. It is skeletal, long, thin and fragile. Artemisael, however, has a far more aerodynamic shape and a sleeker body meant to stalk, hunt down and destroy prey. Being an Angel, it has no need to kill, but being aggressive by nature, it still kills with great enthusiasm, for the satisfaction of its need to destroy. It has a hawkish beak, long neck and an inner body adorned by a pair of “wings” which are more roughly wing-shaped sticks than anything else. Being a halved Angel, its power is considerably weaker than that of its brethren. Rather than following a policy of hiding like its brother Arael, Artemisael prefers to take out its quarry before the quarry can strike back. To that goal, it has reduced its body size considerably. It devotes much of its AT Field to propulsion and weapons, giving it unparalleled speed but very weak defenses—no matter; it is better to dodge than to simply hope that an attack will bounce off, a fact that the Fifth Angel Ramiel had to learn the hard way. The AT Field gives a full sphere of propulsion, meaning Artemisael can propel itself in any direction at full speed, which is quite fast. With this speed, Artemisael weaves through the attacks of other Angels to blast at their Cores. It is not, however, a heavy fighter, and would rather back out than stand and fight when outgunned.
Any Angel is capable of using its AT Field to create particle beams, and Artemisael especially excels in precision attacks such as particle beams. Most of its shots come directly from its Core, in the form of either a long, sharp single shot or a stream of weaker beams. Its body also grows small nodes that fall off, take a chunk of AT Field and smash into targets like a miniscule missile. Although unguided, they are fast enough and Artemisael accurate enough that hits are far more common than misses. Occasionally, for more agility than speed, the Angel folds up its head beneath its body, extend its legs and pulls its wings together. It still hovers, but its compact shape makes movement a lot smoother close to ground and in between obstacles.
Normally, to engage in combat, Artemisael cruises over the area in Low Earth Orbit, scouting out defenses. When such threats are identified, it simply launches a salvo from its Core and disables the defenses from the safety of space, and then dives down through the atmosphere to finish what’s left. For the usual target, Artemisael fares extraordinarily well. For an attack on the Lilim strongholds where the Progenitor imitations were housed, more would be needed. Even Zeruel had to shoot twice to penetrate enough armor to enter the cavity on the small island. Though Artemisael’s first target, a habitation in the northern part of the planet where a new imitation was beginning to undergo construction, was far weaker than that great island fortress, it was still troublesome for the small Angel, whose powers of attack are but lacking. To compensate, it slimmed itself even more, gaining more maneuverability so that the imitation cannot get its hands on Artemisael, who may be left free to pummel the imitation to death from the air—they’ve shown no indication of flight capability so far. The fully matured imitations must wait until Artemisael can get stronger or until it is crippled by some stronger Angel before Artemisael dared make a move. Before it tackles that dreadful enemy, it will eliminate all the new imitations that the Lilim are producing, now with Fruits of Life. It had sabotaged the first to bear a Fruit, blasting its Core from far away as it was awakening, and in the process blowing up an impressive area full of Lilim. The same tactic may not succeed again, but even Artemisael can take out a lump of defenseless meat. Starting with the first, the nine imitations yet to be completed will all die, one by one. If they were to survive and Complement, as Artemisael fears, then Artemisael would be dragged in and have its sole means of self-definition taken from it.
From the human point of view, Artemisael does not seem possible. It was not predicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls, and no Angels should be coming to Berlin instead of to Japan, where both ADAM and LILITH were by now housed. This raised the possibility that a new source of Angels may have developed nearby, and that the Angels may attack anywhere, regardless of the presence of a Progenitor. When later data from Japan came in, however, it was found that the wave pattern completely matches that of Arael, destroyed over Japan by the Lance of Longinus from Unit 00. The Cores suggest a strong correlation between the Angels, and there were serious structural similarities, raising the possibility of a spilt Angel, much like Israfael, the Sixth Angel. The possibility was shelved as unimportant, as the Angel was revealed to be from ADAM and not some other Progenitor, and to prevent confusion, it was simply labeled “Unidentified Pattern Blue 01.” The object wreaked havoc on Berlin, and nearly took Unit 05 out, but a last second, miraculous boost of Unit 05’s A.T. Field seem to have deflected the object’s final attack, rendering both into piles of debris. The object’s S2 Organ was destroyed by ground teams after the battle to prevent it from regenerating.
Battle with Unit 05
(Continued from the Evangelion’s perspective…)
Artemisael was screaming, physically and otherwise. The Lilim’s creation had half-blinded him, and painfully vaporized his right wing. He was powerless, flopping about on the ground like a headless chicken. He made the mistake of staying put for one moment, and the Lilim had hit him. Credit goes to the false Angel for its skill, but that was of no importance, as he was a helpless lump of meat right now. The metallic birds with their stinging projectiles swooped down for the kill, and Artemisael picked them off with an expertly shot beam. They seemed to bleed fire and cry out in pain, but it was mostly a matter of the air racing along their bodies. Artemisael could sense the false Angel approaching with a certain weight in its footsteps, perhaps as the result of carrying a heavier weapon, one that would finish Artemisael off for good. But the Angel of the Hunt does not bear that title vainly. No one knows how to evade the hunter better than the hunter himself. With some great pain, Artemisael formed his intact wing to replace his missing one, resulting in a crystalline cage around his body core. With barely a whisper, Artemisael buzzed off into the jungle of metal that the Lilim lived in. A shadow darkened the sun. The false Angel spun through the air, crash-landed on one of the structures and leveled a long tube at Artemisael. He knew enough of the Lilim to know that their tubes were deadly. This one was no exception. In fact, it was perhaps worse. Several blocks of the Lilim’s habitat erupted into flames when a ball from the tube connected with space that Artemisael had occupied a fraction of a second ago. The false Angel tried to follow, but it seems that its weapon was hard to hit accurately. For this, Artemisael scorned the creature. It lacks all finesse and possesses only brute, unwieldy force. How unfortunate that a Soul must power something so mundane and plebian! He easily dodged all the creation’s shots, until the weapon failed to fire. It was at its limit, but not Artemisael. A hard beam drilled a hole through the head of the creation, causing a cloud of red vapor to spurt out. Another spray set the weapon aflame, and the creation tumbled away. For a long, long time, it did not move. Artemisael dared look out, climbing to a safe distance, just before a pair of wings engulfed him. The creation, it seemed, had limited flight capabilities. The crystal cage that protected Artemisael flowed into spikes that sliced the wings clean off the creation. Red blood filled Artemisael’s vision, and he struggled to keep his ability to see. Instantly backing off, he “blinked” the blood out of his eye, clearing it and seeing the creation writhe in pain on the ground. Artemisael stretched out his spidery “legs” and began to channel energy through its tips, focusing a huge portion of his Core’s output into a final shot to crumple the creation’s false Heart. It might as well have been dead, but Artemisael must make sure.
He was right; a sudden flutter of life blossomed within the creation, tearing apart its restraints and blazing with the light of…two Souls. The creations had Lilim to operate them, sure, but the Barriers of the creations’ Souls were always only vaguely similar to their operators and blown to Angelic proportions by the constructs. This one, however, was a clear projection of two Souls, both of them Lilim, one far greater than the other. They were, however, nearly identical, two Lilim related by a close bond and tied by overwhelming grief and…that emotion which the Lilim termed “love,” the irresistible attraction of two Lilim to each other in their instinctive need to fulfill Wholeness. Two of them should not be in one construct, which held but one Lilim. In a flash, Artemisael understood the full cruelty of the Lilim. They had used the progenitors of their operators to fill their constructs with a Soul and enable it to fight. Even to the heartless killer that Artemisael was, ripping a Soul out of a body and making the Soul’s offspring control it was revolting. It screamed in anger, spreading his disgust through the dimension that those borne of ADAM occupied. Without hesitation, Artemisael poured almost all his limited power into the beam—his regeneration be damned—and spat it into the two Lilim. The Ugliness must be erased at all cost, Artemisael’s life included.
A brilliant light illuminated the dark smoke circling the city, followed seconds later by an earth-shattering explosion. For a kilometer, every glass window turned into fine dust, and every bit of metal shriveled into drops of liquid that was blown away by the shockwave. A giant beam grew from the center and up, seeming to cut the heavens apart with its bright intensity.
At the center of a glassy crater where a city had been, a white giant lay. Its body was actually no longer white but burnt black all over. Its chest was melted and its forearm gone. The stump stuck out in a protective pose, as if the missing forearm had just blocked some incredible firepower and suffered the consequences. The chest cavity was destroyed, only a heavily damaged red orb remaining intact. Blackened bones stuck out of it with wanton abandon, along with the remains of a curious cylinder. It was broken right down the middle, the melted front half torn off and bringing a sheet of metal up and into the middle, crushing whatever would be inside. A quarter kilometer away, a heap of ruined, translucent substances milled about, melted. A similar red Core flowed out of the sludge, covered in half a bony beaklike facemask. In the putrid, contaminated air, nothing at all moved.

And like a brilliant comet, Vlore has come and gone. Alas!

Perhaps I need to say it differently. It is very detailed already, but what I am saying is if you zoom in on an area you can draw it in a much cleaner fashion making the details easier to distinguish. Nice angel as well :]

Today's entry is from a veteran Designer returning to this Contest after a three year hiatus, having participated in the very first ADC. Now, give your attention to Omegagouki (please hold your applause)!

Omegagouki wrote:General Data
Name and Title: Akrasiel, the Angel of Justice

Size Measurements: 720' (about 219.5m) long, 217' (about 66m) wide at widest point. About 2/3 of the Akrasiel's mass is contained in the Angel's hilt and balances sections, while the rest is contained in its blade and ribbon-like sections. Despite this, it is rather lightweight, to help transport itself more quickly, especially when being propelled into objects using its AT Field.

Class Ranking: B, though its abilities just barely miss the requirements for it having an A classification.

Type: Aerial attacker with both long and short range abilities, however also capable of physical attacks due to its shape.

References
In wanting to find an interesting and powerful sort, I began looking up things about angels related to justice, or being associated with swords. I didn't want to go with the obvious choices (such as Micheal), and my search eventually led me to Raguel, who turned out to look like a nice candidate. However, the angel's normal name just seemed too plain, so I went with one of its alternate names, which sounded a bit more similarly to the series' canonical Angel names.

Its sword and scale motif are often used in more western versions of justice-based lore (especially the scales), but considering what the designers of the series did in the name of things looking cool, I decided to go with it.

Personal Characterization / Background History
Akrasiel first appears from the waters containing the submerged ruins of Old Tokyo that several other Angels first make their appearances (Sachiel, Shamshel, Ramiel, Israfel, and Zeruel) from. Much like these others, it is attacked by the military to no avail, destroying multiple units without much effort.

Akrasiel does not attack unless provoked, but when it does it replies with strong and brutal retaliation, suggesting it believes in swift and potent punishment and is therefore easily angered when attacked. Its fury is moreso shown when it is confronted by the Evas, for obvious storyline reasons - it doesn't like these abominations created from its progenitor.

Physical Description
SPOILER: Show
Image

Akrasiel is a somewhat small-to-medium-sized Angel shaped like a semi-organic sword, with orange and violet coloration on the upper part of its body, which is meant to resemble and imitate a spiny, twisted sword hilt, with a smooth, yet segmented and plated texture in some areas.

Akrasiel's core very much resembles a large jewel embedded in the hilt, with an owl skull situated a little bit above it, on the main section of its "hilt", signifying this is the front half of its body - on the back, a single set of gill slits exists, only consisting of two in number.

Underneath the hilt is a multi-segmented orange and purple structure that somewhat resembles a spinal column, and it is from this structure that Akrasiel's "blade" protrudes - the structure is quite solid, but it can bend itself slightly, allowing the blade to wave back and forth.

The blade is straight-on silvery white with a slightly curved, two-pronged tip, and wrapped around it in places are two semi-solid ribbons of sorts, dark blue in color, said ribbons coming from a couple segments upwards in its spine. It can soften and be used similarly to Zeruel's arms, but it is far too stiff even then to be even close a weapon as those.

Lastly, hanging from from the sidebar of Akrasiel's hilt on each side of the blade are a pair of half-circular structures with a large depression in the middle, acting and looking somewhat like the weight cups in a scale, and one looking at them from below would notice their undersides have an eye motif, purple to orange to blue in an inwards fashion. These can be used as weapons by the Angel - refer to the "Abilities" and "Offenses" sections for what they can do.

Abilities
Akrasiel has a medium-high endurance rating, due to being quite fast, and therefore can dodge and attack with relative ease. This, however, does not make the Angel a fragile speedster type, as it is quite sturdy due to its design and structure, and close contact with it can be very dangerous, especially to an Eva (sharp and pointed edges and areas on its body make the usual hand-to-hand combat strategy risky).

Akrasiel's range is quite varied, due to the differing ways it can attack, from being able to greatly increase the temperature around itself and in the process launch strong light and heat attacks. It can also launch itself at foes and perform multitudes of aerial maneuvers from slashes to stabs, and flinging or dumping acid from its "scales".

Due to the above (and the below), its damage potential can be dangerously high if not dealt with properly.

Combat Abilities
Burning Judgement: Greatly increases the heat around itself to a point that it can melt metal and cause somewhat severe heat damage. Thankfully, it gets nowhere near the level that conditions would be similar to where Sandalphon was discovered. It can set things on fire, naturally.

Light Ray: Gathers heat and light onto most of its pointed segments and then fires them off at specific targets. When they strike, similar explosive effects to Sachiel and Zeruel's cross blasts occur afterwards, blasting out at the angles they were shot from.

Aerial Stab: The Angel uses its AT field to launch itself up into the air and then uses it again to fire itself at its target, one of its more dangerous anti-Eva abilities... if it hits, anyway. If it doesn't, Akrasiel could get stuck and be vulnerable to a retaliation attack, though it can attack with its non-physical abilities.

Aerial Slice: Akrasiel swings itself at an enemy in range, and can be used on conjunction with Aerial Stab. Another ability that can be exceptionally dangerous to an Eva - dismemberment sucks, as proven multiple times by mainly Zeruel and the MP Evas.

Ray Shower: Charged just like Light Ray, the Angel flies up into the air out of reach and fires all of its blasts upwards, where they explode in midair and then rain down on anything unfortunate enough to be in their radius. Not especially strong individually, but striking all at once racks up the damage. Puts it at risk or being hit with a positron rifle or the Lance, however.

Acid: Gathers corrosive acid into its scale parts, which can be simply dropped, or flung around. It's pretty much the same stuff Matariel was using, but considering Akrasiel is more dangerous...

Highest Judgement: Easily Akrasiel's ace in the hole, due to being its strongest attack. Either by pretending to or using it after Ray Shower, the Angel gathers all of the energy it can muster into and along its blade and fires it straight downward as a very highly concentrated beam. This beam is strong enough to blast through most of Tokyo-3's armor plates in one shot. Thankfully, it has a somewhat long charge and cooldown time, unlike Zeruel's near-instant firepower, and therefore can be prevented and/or countered.

Defenses
AT-Field Performance: Akrasiel has a weak-medium strength AT field. Mainly, the Angel uses it to keep itself afloat, and in conjunction propel itself about, stabbing and slicing through the air if need be. This field also has the unique ability of causing the very air around it to heat up to intense temperatures and help in gathering energy for some of its attacks..

Armor Type: Its armor is chitinous and smooth, but with sharp edges and points in places. It isn't the strongest or sturdiest stuff, though. Its blade is an exception, being metallic, sturdy, and all-around eternally sharp, though it doesn't count as armor nearly as much..

Regenerative abilities: One of Akrasiel's biggest weaknesses is the complete lack of regenerative ability, relying on its speed, ability, and armor to keep itself in good condition. Once damage is done, though, it stays, for the most part.

Offenses
Akrasiel's abilities are semi-diverse, allowing it to cause damage in numerous ways. These include heat damage, physical collisions, stabbing, mutilation and dismemberment, explosive force, and high-energy bursts. Potentially a very dangerous opponent, though it does have enough flaws to decrease this.

Miscellaneous other abilities
None that I can think of, everything's in the other sections.

Combat skills and strategies
Head to Tokyo-3 and find Adam, attack any small opposition with heat, acid, or lower-level ray abilities. Larger opposition (read, Evas), use any methods necessary in disabling or destroying. Use ray attacks and Highest Judgement to get to Adam. Reunite.
