haven't seen the wing series just the Endless waltz part, I got a pretty good feel though for what went on in the series though.

I've seen Gundam Wing, GW: Endless Waltz, and Gundam Seed. All of them were very BORING with a captial B! The newest series, Gundam AGE, actually looks promising. And I hear that G Gundam is supposed to be the odd duck in the franchise because it's so nutty and wacky. Sounds perfect for me! I'm thinking of finding a English copy and eventually buying it.

I mean, I managed to make 'Sieg Zeon' the official hello at my anime society. (However, I failed to make myself the Eternal President of the Anime Society and have my portrait hanging above the projector screen in our club room for all eternity. My first secretary who will become President among others found the idea distasteful.)
Earth Federation facts:
Globalisation bastards.
Amuro is a whiny idiot who is also hypocritical. Gets all sobby about war but has no qualms killing people himself.
Their uniform is rubbish.
The 'Gundam' has the aura of 'I am always correct because I have white blue and red as my primary colour'
Above statement applies to Earth Federation.
I know the whole point of the anime is to blurr the good and bad guys, but if the Earth Federation starts massacring people, they have dirtied the name.
Zeon has its bad points, but in my view, they more than make up for it with better looking gear, their zeal for independence and what not.

It is not a complete dictatorship. At its worst, it was a militarist Dutchy. I am a fervent monarchist, so I see no wrong in here. Even when the Zabis took over, they were still fighting for freedom. Just the leadership and the political structure changed.
I still prefer Zeon design than Federation.
Federation cannot, and SHOULD not commit mass murder. Once they do, the word 'Federation' is meaningless. Besides, the context of this mass murder is only in numbers. Zeon has much more to lose.
