Im a big fan of
"The Beast that shouted "I" at the heart of the world"

"To error is human, to forgive is divine..."

"Survival of the Fittest"
-cheesy but fits really well
-"Survival of the most brutally savage"
-"Survival of the most disturbingly badass"

"You're going to want to watch a comedy shortly after, its in your best interest to rent Emperor's New Groove ahead of time."

the NERV logo is good, "God's in his heavens, all is right in the world"

"WARNING: DO NOT watch while under the influence of any mind-altering drugs or alcohol."

"They're here to save the world... well... it all depends on your definition of "saved""

personally, i would really like it if the tagline was "Shake, shake, shake them hips"
-i think it would really put viewers in a mindset to be destroyed but somehow love it.

There is a way to market this movie/series to holy rollers

I just love making fun of those half-assed conspiracy theory books.

Evangelion...

at the end of the trailer after it shows the title you could do three cool things i think

either Rei in her tank...hear her voice go :
"What do you wish to be?"

or Gendo in his usual hands on mouth position saying :
"Mankind has no time left"

or Keel in the same position saying:
"God's in his heaven, all is right with the world"

ooohh....
maybe Shinji going:
I musn't run away...Yametameta...i dont know how its actually spelled but thats how it sounds to me...

there actually is a phrase in the bible that i found particulary suited for EoE:

'And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man'

(note: i got this from a tagline of some book i once read (the second angel, by Phillip Kerr)...)

but I still like: "Welcome to the Apocalypse" the most...

Actually that's not a bad idea. Here, think of this:

'And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man' (insert biblical passage chapter and verse here)

"The beast has awakened...

...The battle has begun."

There should also be three posters for the movie, each one featuring a different pilot and their Eva.

Tsukasa wrote:From black, the camera (which is lying on the snow-covered ground, abandoned near a vacant campsite) comes into a scene of Arctic wind and blowing snow, with an occassional gust. The recording of the camera (the camera already has 3 hours of recording and the date on it says September 13, 2000) blurs once in awhile, twitches, and has those static-lines etch across the screen (like you would see in a faulty camera).

Then a voice on a walkie talkie (which can be seen after a gust of wind blows off snow covering the antenna and the it starts to transmit. A man on the walkie starts talking (one of the conversations from the opening seqence of Death) and then as he continues, the other conversations start coming in until they all are going at once (the voices are in various loudness) lasting for about a good minute or so. We then hear a small shockwave and the snow around the camera 'jumps' as a result of the sound. The voices on the talkie keep getting louder and more paniced (the video camera still doing its static-lines and twitching). Then, when the voices on the talkie become nothing but screaming and heart-felt panic, a final message can be heard above the others on the walkie. A scientist says, "Ah, look! It is beautiful! We have done it, Katsuragi! A living God, Ada..." The talkie goes silent after violently breaking up the transmission. Then, everything is quiet. Suddenly, the snow blowing around starts to be drawn towards the horizon, like a giant vacuum had been turned on (the camera and the walkie are slightly drawn towards the horizon as well). Then, a piercing sheen of light from the horizon appears, everything still silent. Then, a MASSIVE shockwave approaches, with the snow all around 'exploding' upwards. Then, the sheen of light erupts into a mass of exploding and firey chaos and as that explosive mess approaches the camera, the surrounding ice and snow are melted into water and just before the camera is vaporized, we can see the image of Adam's wings emerging from the center of the explosion while the horrific cry of Adam can be heard at a very high pitch (the wind is blowing VERY violently with various things of equipment and water flying around, much like a large cyclone). The camera then dies and all goes black.

We then hear a Ritsuko's voice in the background saying, "And in his folly, man tried to make this God his own...and was punished."

We then see a sequence erupting into flashes of random scenes from both the anime and the live-action film, with lines from both shows being whispered.

Shinji's voice then says, "I thought this was something painless. A perfect world."

Rei's voice then says, "You've misunderstood it from the very beginning. You are creating feelings for yourself."

Shinji's voice then says, "But no one understands me."

Rei then says, "That is the extension of reality.

Shinji then says, "My...where is my reality?"

The flashing scenes begin to fade to black.

Rei says, finally, "That is at the end of the dream."

Then, in the NERV logo font and color:

"The end is emanating."

"(Insert release date here.)"

I don't know, I just tried to make it sound more interesting, like the end is happening now as they watch the trailer.

YO!

I LOVE YOUR TRAILER, it's ALMOST perfect

i'd change this:

instead of the NERV-logo at the end, do the NGE-logo...

i'd change the very first line ("we did it katsuragi, a living god, blabla-"
i don't know what to change it in... it's just... i don't know... but i do know that i'd change it :P

what about "Welcome to the Apocalypse" as a tagline? ;)

"If you liked the manga...if you loved the anime...then sod off, you'll only moan about this" - a tagline for the true otaku
"When the going gets weird , the weird turn pro . " - Hunter S . Thompson.

I always thought the DEATH trailer was perfect (haven't been here in a while, not sure if I've said it already).

As for taglines...

Personal favourite: "God's in His Heaven, All's Right in the World" (preferably on a poster showing an Eva, a destroyed cityscape, and huge amounts of blood)

Otherwise, stuff relating to the series (or lines from it) would be neat.

"Let the Sacrement begin."

And here's what I would like to see (or not). A bit of a theme here...

"There is no such thing as innocence...only degrees of guilt." (DoW stuff, I know...)

"The new rises from the ashes of the old."

"Year: 2015. The Enemy: Angels."

"Pleasure is Sin. Destruction is Joy. Death is Rebirth." (meh...)

Other stuff...

"Survival of the Most Savage" (@Harmless, I like that one)

"Where will you be the Day After Instrumentality?"

"When in doubt, go berserk."

"The fate of the world depends on ANGST! teens."

"Women + Robots + Action"

"50-tons of Raw Feminine Brutality." (no offense meant..and how much do Evas weigh anyway?)

And what about the actual titling? Would they really just call it NGE, or change it to be more 'assessible'?

Off-topic, but I hope they include some sort of tribute to GAINAX and the original series in the beginning of the movie.
