Jebus, when I discovered NGE over a year ago I had no idea that being an Evangelion fan would require so much patience. Been jonesing for Q for a year now and if things continue to move forward as slowly as they seemingly have been up to now then it'll be another 2 years until I get to see it (the DVD/BD that is).

Just noticed that down left corner of page 23 has picture from Macross Frontier Sayonara no Tsubasa's opening scene (Sheryl's Kindan no Elixir performance) - looks like Khara did again some CGI work on Macross (they were credited for first film too). Interesting

Well, can't complain because the visuals was pretty damn God Tier there

He's not. It might be an in-joke, though -- I seem to vaguely recall Tsurumaki commenting that Shinji Higuchi (our Shinji's namesake) is left-handed. [s]Don't have my FLCL DVDs on me, though, so I can't double-check, and my memory might be toooootally off.[/s]

Higuchi is probably doing storyboards for 3.0, like for the previous two films. (And speaking of Mahiro Maeda, he did a bunch of concept work for 2.0.)

Here ha can be seen bowing with his right hand and using his left to hold notes on the fingerboard. He is playing the cello with a right-handed "stance". This is from the series, but i think it's one of those instances where there is probably no contradiction between NGE and NME.

I could have used a less elegant example of Shinji using his right hand, but every joke gets old after a while.

Anyway: who drew that comic of Shinji and the others with Anno along with the 4koma? It doesn't look like a Sadamoto drawing but the art-style does looks familiar to me.

well, the hand he always gestures around with/holds his knives with/ocassionally uses for self arousal seems to be the right one - or did he use the left one for the deed and put the right one infront of himself so the... stuff wouldn't land on Asuka?

Then again, we've never seen him write, have we?

They're not so hard to tell apart - Anno is the one with the curly hair and the sloppier clothes. XD

In terms of who illustrated the 4koma, if I understand the credit properly it should have been done by Anno's wife.

As for the epic portrait of Anno/Gendo reigning terror over the rest of the cast... I'm not so sure

Moyoco Anno (no, no relation), eh? Good stuff. Anno looks a little like Ringo Starr in that 4koma (very slightly).

Now that I think about it, maybe that big illustration was by Sadamoto?, but it's hard to make out the "illustration by" part.

Does this article happen to go into how much Studio Khara makes from merchandise or what they do with the money exactly? I know fans sometimes assume Gainax and Khara must be swimming in pools of melted gold with how easily and quickly Eva merchandise sells, but I don't see anything that points to them being rich companies.

Well, at least people assume Anno is bloody rich (which I'm sure he is, but...) if nothing else but I still haven't seen anything that points to New Movie Edition being a cash-grab. (If the project WAS a cash-grab, then they would have gone with their original idea of an NGE copy and paste with a new post-EoE ending.)

As I heard, 2.X was an immense financial sucess - but they might be putting all of that cash into Q.

Good thing and lots of brownie points for TKD for delivering the latest. :)

for the record, what are the other anime there? I don't recognize them from those blurry pics - excluding Ghost in the Shell Solid State Society 3D (so Khara did some CG works for it too? Huh? Maybe they added stuff to 3D version in that case as the film is at this point years old...)
