The Nerv guy with the porn stache and epic hair watching Unit 03 get ripped apart in 2.22 always cracks me up.

EDIT: He's in the series too, but Rebuild's image clarity makes him stand out more.

The episode where the power goes out as that spider angel is melting it's way into central dogma and everybody is sweating because it's so hot. Somebody comments that it's amazing how the commanders manage to stay cool and collected even under such harsh conditions and it flips to a picture of Gendos feet sitting in a bucket of water haha.

Also, there is a deleted scene in 2.22 that you can watch in the bonus features on the disc. It's just a storyboard clip but it's voice acted. It's when it has The 3 children and Misato on a train when the door opens up and Kaji is standing there. Misato acts annoyed and after a conversation the train is getting read to leave. Right before the door closes, Kaji says, "And Shinji, I love you." The door closes and Shinji is just left sitting there like whaaattt. I thought that was pretty funny.

After Shinji's destroyed Unit 03/Bardiel, right before the scene where Kaji is sitting by Misato's gurney, there is maybe the worst voice acting in the whole series.

One that stands out clearest for me is, for whatever reason, Misato's sudden spiral of self-loathing in the first episode as she worries about her car and dress. Granted, it's meant to be funny on the surface, but the dramatic plunge between the chirpy, competent action girl we just met and the self-hating wreck that lurks inside is the first indication that, for this particular anime, you might be in for more than you signed up for... It caught me by surprise, and it was surprise that made me laugh.

I found large chunks of first half of the series hilarious, actually - it's loaded to the brim with the pitch-black humor of failing human interaction...

YES. So funny. The dub clip is here, I think Kozo's dub voice makes this even funnier.
