I wanted something different for my avatar, but don't want to have to work hard to live up to my own legacy and create something clever, so I'll just use one of the the runner-ups from my last avatar contest.
The broken frame in the current lead suggests a possible future between Shinji and Asuka that was broken by the Bardiel attack. Eva Unit 01's horn is used to visually separate Asuka from Shinji, even visually trapping Shinji in it's shape, carrying on the theme of the broken relationship and the sense of Shinji's inability to interfere with the attack trapped inside his Eva.

Some asked me where I got my avatar so I might just as well explained here: It was from one of the last pages of Retake, a doujinshi of Eva, when Asuka finally spoke to Shinji about her honest feeling, though she could only speak it in her native German. This is the scene that completed my closure regarding the trauma/burnout caused by End of Evangelion which contributed to me giving up manga/anime for one decade (I am not kidding here). It was kind of foolish to think I could have reacted that way but here you go. Because of that I know I will never ever change my avatar because Retake holds such an important position in bringing me back to the manga/anime world which I had truly missed (but did not know).
