That depends... is it a lie? Because if it is... Well you know...

If you don't quit making that joke I'm going to lie you down and inject you with these horse tranquilizers.

i have a better idea, give me the horse tranquilizers instead, their my favorite! :ting: that and vicadin.

I'd say Shinji because I lost my mother when I was very young, I tend to believe that I am unloved and I get easily scared and confused.

If this is already thread please just forgive me and move into that thread mods, I CTRL-f'ed and couldn't find anything:

But which NGE character do you relate to? I find I relate, emphasize most with Shinji but I have to admit there's probably 50/50 Shinji Kensuke in me. As I'm a horny nerdy otaku :shinji_blush:

What about you guys?

I'm a mix between Asuka (speak loud to cover my lack of self esteem), kensuke (the same reason as you) and Shinji (low self esteem, and a bit shy sometimes)
Asuka's not a bitch, she just denies her innocence in a bitchy way.

I relate most to Shinji, but I sometimes have a bit of Asuka's extroverted way of dealing with her problems in me too. Rei's shyness in the first five episodes is also pretty familiar for me.

Shinji for sure. I was exactly like him when I was 14.

...And still am in a lot of ways.

I'd say Kensuke, except more anime-oriented.

Took that quiz. Got Rei.
However i can' decide weather i'm more like Shinji or Rei. I understand Shinji too well and i see Rei's thouhgts.
Can't decide.

Got Misato, wich is pretty accurate at the moment, though I been laying off boozing a bit. I dought I look good in a miniskirt though. To keep up with the 13/14 thing I was more like a grumpy Shikinami being ... uh, headstrong and grumpy like any other teenager.

Rei is a quite unique characters since many of her personality is the consequence of her origins; may I ask exactly how do you relate to Rei (or to which aspects of Rei)? Of course if you want to talk about it, I'm simply curious.

Wow, going through this thread I realize that I never actually answered the OP question.

A year ago I would have said Shinji; in fact, for all my adolescent years until now I would have said Shinji. However, now that I'm older, a little more mature, a little more stable, I would have to say that I don't empathize with any of the characters anymore. I believe I've talked about this before, but almost all of my emotional connection to the show is gone because I've grown so much as a person that I can no longer personally relate to any of the characters, not that I don't feel sympathy for them.

Direct answer: Shinji. I was way too much like him when I found the show, and eight years later, I can say I still feel like I'm like that.

Killer Bee is insane! A twist worthy of M. Night Shymalan.

I see myself as a definite mixture of both Shinji and Rei. My general attitude toward life is the same as Shinji's, and I've been sheltered all my life (and thus, lack common experiences others take for granted) like Rei. If you can imagine Rei trying really hard to fake normalcy, then that would be me.

I've recently found a bit of Mari down in there, too. I hope that goes somewhere. I'm tired of being Rei.

I already answered this on page 1 (Short version: mostly Aoba), but If I answered it in terms of me as a teen it would be about a 50/50 blend of the non-Shinji stooges as I was both a jock and a geek simultaneously.

Split between Asuka and Ritsuko.

Shinji or Asuka. can't really explain why, mostly for the reasons everyone already stated.

Isn't he a little too young to worry about that (if MasonFighter is really 18 years)?
