That definitely is the cover. The subject is right, the release info is right, and The Price Is Right.

If memory serves me well, we could see this in English 3-6 months after the Japanese release. So if it comes out in late march, we might see it between June-September.

Here's to wishful thinking.

This is Sadamoto we're talking about here.

As Magami pointed out on ANF - Rei doesn't seem to be as turned on by the tentacle rape as she is in the anime.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes Chuang Yi to get their translations done?

Chuang Yi are a Singapore-based manga importer/distributor, who also do their own translating. Madman Entertainment, the company that holds the exclusive licence to distribute NGE in Australia (along with a spate of other titles) slightly repackage Chuang Yi's versions and sell them here. I think.

So I guess you don't know then? :)

Malay appears to be the national, so English is a predominate alternate? I'm intrigued, I've always assumed that there weren't any predominate English speaking areas in Asia.

Is that supposed to be a core or something on Rei in that image?

It's possible that Chuang Yi do the English translations mostly for us, and have some sort of joint distribution deal going with Madman. It seems like it'd be worth their while if they also had a market for them at home.

Madman aren't big on manga (What's the plural? Mangai?) anyway. Their market's anime and Eastern cinema. A friend of mine's paid by them to watch anime and fill in a tickbox sheet so they can figure out how to classify it. He told me he ran out of boxes in the pantyshot section watching Tenjou Tenge.

Japanese don't got no distinct forms for singular or plural (which is fortunate, because their counting system is Neolithic) so words like manga, anime, ninja, sushi, etc. serve as either singular or plural—"I like this manga" and "I read a lot of manga" are both correct.

Australia, of course, has the honor of being the first English-speaking country to air EVA on national television. I recall letters to "Misato's Fan Service Center" from Australian fans.

OK, now I'm saying Radiohead's "Pyramid Song" could have substituted for "Komm Susser Tod"

Curse you and your artistic abilities, Sadamoto. Each manga cover looks just that bit nicer, it's a real shame there are no larger posters or wallpapers are made available for those of us who worship this man's talent.

Now I'm done jerking him off, does anyone else think that cover looks a lot cleaner than the other ones? Almost as if aspects were digital (mostly the colouring, so just the one aspect then). Then again, maybe I'm just insane.

Pretty nifty. Too bad my country probably won't see it until a good year after it's Japan release... damn you, publishing giants!
