^High School of the Dead is pretty awesome. I'm really starting to like this "Shikabane Hime" Stars Kawrou!! lol. I like the music and the atmosphere it puts off. Can get emotional at times but also has action. It's an all around great anime. Now they need to put out some figures...

Just finished watching Eureka Seven.

Uhhhhhmmm...

It was alright, but the ending felt a little bit rushed, despite having a lot of filler in the middle.

I just watched Black Rock Shooter, it was okay but felt like there was more to the story, it felt rather incomplete. Also I watched some of MM!, that's uh...quite the premise...

So I watched the first ep of Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Invasion! Squid Girl) today.
Basically it's about a cute squid girl that is sick of humanity polluting the sea and comes up the the land seeking revenge, thus preparing a scheme to conquer the whole world.

I was hoping it would be a pleasant and cute comedy.
Which it is, exactly as I hoped it'd be, so that was nice not being disappointed. It's pretty amusing so far.

This show will probably spark the use in the latest and greatest of moe anime jargon: geso~

The squid girl says it at the end of like, every 2nd sentence of hers. But it isn't especially bothersome because it seems to slip in so naturally with her speech anyway.

I went and watched some new shows:

Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Invasion! Squid Girl)

Gesu~
Pretty cool, It´s on my watchlist.

My Little Sister can´t be this Cute!

Not bad, going to decide after a few episodes because the premise of the show doesn´t look too consistent/stable.

Bakuman

I read the manga and I don´t like where this is going.

I´m still looking forward to A Certain Magical Index S2, Season 1 was pretty cool.

To celebrate my 1000th completed item on my MAL list, I watched the Unlimited Blade Works movie.

It's been like 4 years since I've seen Fate/Stay Night, so I'm not going to be able to do any kind of detailed comparison between the movie and TV series, although, like the title says, this is the 2nd arc of the VN (UBW) and less of the 1st and 3rd routes that the TV series took, so Rin is more of a main character (the "mana" transfer is between Emiya and Rin instead of Saber). (UBW Synopsis here).

On the surface, this looks and feels pretty much like what I remember the TV series to be, except with newer/better animation and less narrative meandering. Things definitely move pretty quickly and there's a heavy reliance on action, which is good and bad. Good because the action is pretty awesome, bad because a lot of the narrative is just glossed over. That's really the crux of the problems I had with the movie. The entire movie felt like it was a free-for-all battle royale and the narrative was just a means of connecting one battle to another. There's really no background on any of the characters and some things (like Emiya's Trace ability) seemed to come out of nowhere. At least that's what it would seem like, to me, if someone who wasn't familiar with the characters and story already would see in the movie.

I think it's probably an 8 or 9 out of 10, but I like the UBW story more then the Fate story so I gave it a 9. I enjoyed the movie.

Yep, kicchiri shinasai! :D
But to give them credit, Zan is that point where they followed the manga ultra-literally.

I wonder how many people can say that they've completed one thousand items a MAL list. I'm probably no going to spend hours searching now thanks to this.

EDIT: nevermind. I found it in like two seconds. http://myanimelist.net/topusers.php

Grabbed a really weird show of Amazon called 'Rin ~ Daughters of Mnemosyne'. It's kind of a cross between 'Elfen Lied' and 'Darker than Black'.

If your into torture porn, and girl on girl action; give it a shot.

Yeah, but if you want that stuff, you'd might as well watch a straight-up hentai rather than Mnemosyne.

Mnemosyne actually has a lot of implied violence as opposed to outright graphical violence. Like you see the tools, there may be some blood on them, but you don't actually see the deed. Weird ending though.

I'm curious as to how the next episode will begin... I'm mostly expecting Sora to be dreaming, that's what she did before and she doesn't give the impression of such an upfront person.

Well, people that played the VN claim that
SPOILER: Show
she just came to ask him to take her measurements for a school uniform so she can also get in
Since you mentioned Yosuga no Sora, what the fuck was with the 2nd ED theme? Are they that desperate to get a song with all of the seiyu and try to churn out a few CDs for them to sell?

Even if it's very hard to take the show seriously, it felt extremely out of place when they played that happy upbeat song. Especially when there already was an ED before, lol.

I wonder if they have the balls to go with the incest till the end.

Yeah, I rewatched that last month and was somewhat surprised to discover that it wasn't as graphic as I'd remembered. Still an enjoyable watch, for what it is.

I'm on episode 3 right now myself.

I find it interesting that the one thing that's holding my attention isn't the characters; the story, or any of that stuff. It's "How are they going to kill her next?".

Amazon's description implied that there will be a meat grinder at some point. If not, I will be severely disappointed.

Yosuga no Sora´s OST is pretty good from what I´ve heard.
Minus the ED and OP, of course.

And you guys need to stop quoting /a/ word for word already.

Sort of, yes. But about 1000x faster than a meat grinder.
