^ After 2.0, I think that'd only be possible if 3.0 revealed that Shinji only rescued Rei to get his S-Dat back. Given how immature this iteration of Shinji is, that probably wouldn't be OOC.

well...when I meant "Shinji getting Rei", I didn't exactly mean it in a WAFFy and overtly syrupy manner or even anything remotely romantic at all

just seeing Rei make it out okay in the end run and get a "happy ending". the "will she and Shinji date and make sweet love?" is a matter that should not be overblown in Q/Final. at all.

Things that we certainly won't be getting but that would fit nicely into "we know it's a trainwreck, so we'll just keep adding crazy shit until we hit the buffers, Code Geass style"

-- Asuka/Kaworu WAFF (lots!)
-- what they retrieve from EVA-01 is a Rei/Shinji hybrid
-- Gendo as pilot of EVA-08
-- Hikari piloting EVA-07 (which would have to be pink)
-- an EVA sentai (why EVA-07 would have to be pink) vs remnants of the FAR
-- some plot significant use of the planet Jupiter

What they retrieve from EVA-01 is a Zeruel/Rei/Shinji trihybrid.

That is a rather cynical character assumption. I was under the impression it did not work anymore after Mari's parachute drop.

Also, I doubt that, after seeing someone you've just gotten to like be almost killed by your own robot, seeing someone you've known longer being eaten by a monster is bound to make you a little desperate.

Since Gainax can't seem to make a giant robot series that doesn't involve lunar trauma, I'll assume the same for Khara and (re?)state my desire to see the moon turn out to be the actual White Moon. Bonus points if the MP Evas show up and decide to colony-drop NERV with it.

Hell, why not bung in Jupiter, too? How about it's the Red Moon and Shikinami's the vessel for the Seed of Life who showed up on it. And Mari gets a Pink Moon...and, you know what, fuck, this is a great idea! Moons all around!

I want Shinji to stay out of focus for most of the film so Shikinami can be salvaged into a 3D character even if I don't think she'll ever be as deep as Asuka was. Maybe I could even accept her as a "Asuka" in this continuity if that happened. And also I want to see some Rei development without "IKARI-KUN~". Also, some serious screentime with Misato would be fine, Kaji might be a stretch. Ritsuko, she is lost case already, I'm not asking that.

Also, since so much screentime and plot moving has already been sacrificed for Mari, they really BETTER have some good character development in store for her. More than fanservice.

Oh yes, there's Kaworu too. He will no doubt have big part in the Q/Final, and I have no problem with that. I just hope to $WHATEVER_DEITY that it does not only degenerate into him only trying to "make Ikari Shinji-kun happy this time."

That is assuming that Rebuild is taking place in the same Universe as NGE and after EoE.

I kinda want more eva action this time, its time for the evas to take center stage with a sprinkle of mindraping through out not the other way around like NGE(which I like more,but I want something different this time).And ya Kaworu stepping up to be the main badass badguy kickin all butt in the mark 6 would rock. ^^ But when its said and done any new eva is good eva in my book! ^^b

PS Just to keep the flame wars goin Go Go Go Shinji/Rei ending!

Rei/Shinji became Lilith/Adam while rest of Eva pilot opposed them and became a grand finale battle where ex comrade battle each other for their own justice. I think this plot twist will can avoid Rebuild became chicle and I really hate if that happen. :ehh:

Didn't they first announce the title and some preliminary stuff for 2.0 in October 2008? Can we possibly be but a month away from getting some concrete info about 3.0. One can only hope.

Does anyone else get the feeling that there won't BE a Third Impact (of any kind) in Q/Final? As things stand, it would be sort of repetitive after the end of 2.22. Tackling the last half-hour of EOE is a tall order. I think they'd be better off going in a different direction and forging new ground.
