The PS2 game is supposedly the sequel to the series...
Is there like, an actual text translation of the game floating around somewhere? Or any substancial amount of information about the story? I've tried looking through the forums and google with no luck...

I've got a feeling that this question has been asked many times, but meh...

Evangelion 2 is NOT a sequel to the series. It is just yet another game that lets you jump into the world of Evangelion and do what you want to do. Think of it as Evangelion and The Sims put together. While the game did add weight to several plot points from Evangelion, such as the fact that Adam and Lilith are seeds from an Alien Civilization as opposed to actual Angelic beings, it doesn't really offer anything more to Evangelion in terms of story. It has not and most likely will never be brought over. And judging by the volume of speech and text in the game, it is unlikely a fan translator will have the conviction to translate it. There have been a few Eva fans with Japanese profiencey enough to play the game, and they have said nothing particularly positive. It's not a very good game by western standards. If you love Japanese dating sim, choose your own adventure, or visual novel games, then you might like Evangelion 2, provided you're proficient in Japanese enough to play the game.

In short, it isn't worth worrying about. I can think of quite a few things much more worthy of consideration for localization than Evangelion 2.

ahh good.. kinda relieved that its not a sequel.. It shouldn't be done as a graphic novel type.... It shouldn't be done at all...

What is so wrong about making it a sims-like game? I played it, and it was pretty cool!! (Even though I only recommend fans to buy it!) And they got the new all-armored EVA 01(Bad design..)!!

Psh. I'm probably going to go out and pick it up someday in the future... Or maybe not at all. I do want it, but I couldn't play it easily. The last time I tried playing a Japanese game that wasn't translated (Dragon Quest 5) it ended badly... I had to resort to walkthrus to get through the game.

I'm hoping that this is dubbed in English and made available in the U.S.

I have this game for the pc.. but it's all in Japanese. I can only look at the pretty pictures and try to figure out whats going on. If anyone has played girlfriend of steel 1 its about the same except better animation.

Really? You have it for PC? I didn't know there was a PC format of Eva 2.
I got the Girlfriend of Steel (1) for PC, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it was like a separate, new episode to watch. After I was done with that I was looking for any other PC formats of eva games, I couldn't find anything.
