Sorry for the bump, but who got their copy of the Gold and Silver remakes yet? I hope to pick up mine soon since I love the original G2 games, and the remakes look even better.

I picked up HG the day after it came out. I like it a lot so far, though I really haven't played too much. I bought FF13 the same day and am understandably distracted.

What's nice is that it's my first time playing a Gen II game. The DS was my first handheld console and Diamond was my first Pokemon game. I'm hoping HG lives up to its name though. All I've heard since I started playing Pokemon was how much better the Gen II games are than the ones that followed.

I am skeptical.

I got the Japanese SoulSilver back in November. Played it hardcore for a couple of months, then haven't touched it since. I don't really remember 2nd gen, but this was/is pretty fly.

Rumors of a 5th gen release this year. On the one hand I think they must be running out of original ideas for new Pokemon (or ran out a generation or two ago), but on the other I NEED MORE POKEMONS.

I finaly got my copy of Soul Silver today, so far it's awesome. The game brings back memories when I first got silver version back in 2000. I'm at the first gym leader right now.

I have the feeling she likes Pikachu.

In all seriousness that is quite the collection of Pika. Just wow.
I wonder how much she spent on all that.

I don't even want to know, man. She even made this crazy-ass pika-gown, but I can't bring myself to look it up. I just remember her eery collection posts from the Pokemon LJ comm a few years ago.

Gotta say, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nuzlocke.

Fun way to play...even if it leads to grief. Lost my first party member today...a level 8 starly named The Bird. Damn it, bro! I'm gonna miss you!

And for those who don't know what Nuzlocke is:
1. If a pokemon faints, it dies and must be released.

2. You can only catch the first pokemon you encounter in an area.

Goddamn, it's a long journey ahead of me.

On a semi related note, I just saw the rules for "The Ultimate Pokemon Drinking Game" on Facebook, apparently combining "two of the greatest things known to mankind, pokemon and alcohol." You can play using the tv show or the movies depending on your drinking capacity...

SPOILER: Show
THE RULES

1. Everytime the word pokemon is said, drink.
2. Everytime pikachu says his name, drink.
3. If brock gets a boner over any female (officer jenny for example, drink.
4. If team rocket decides to show up, drink.
5. If someone is not singing along to team rockets theme song, a slap and a drink are in order for the guilty party.
6. If a pokeball is thrown, you must drink.
7. If a legendary pokemon is mentioned, drink for the sheer honour.
8. If ash turns his hat, lookout, 2 drinks for you brave soldier.
9. If psyduck makes an appearance, drink for his sheer incompetence.
10. If psyduck falls on his arse, down it
11. The first person to shout Gary is a bellend, as he appears can nominate one unlucky trooper to drink.
12. Drink everytime togepi says his name (he never shuts up)

Please share any rules that you may have to add to this beautiful game.

Oh and please.......drink responsibly.

Gotta catch em all.

-Nagisa Kaworu kills a kitten every time you masturbate.
-Kaji's first and last name was Kaji

I think the 5th gen game might be release on the new 3DS, I remember reading that the 3rd gen games where plan on the GBC once then move to the GBA. I do think they are running out of ideas for Pokemon since they already have Pokemon that can create and destroy universes now.

Cthulhumon

Combine the zany fun of collecting and battling monsters of Pokemon with the soul crushing horror and inevitable madness of Lovecraft.

In the end, you have to fight Nyarlathotep.

SPOILER ALERT:
You lose.

I would like to see a full 3D Pokemon game done right for the 3DS, the ones for the Gamecube where ok though. I think the idea of a Pokemon based on Lovecraft work would be pretty cool to see though.

I would rather have a sequel to Pokemon Snap. Back when everyone else was creaming their pants over the impending Gold/Silver remake announcement, I was really hoping they'd announce Snap 2. It'd be perfect for the dsi, darnit!

I own a Wii/DSi/PS3 (as well as an N64, a jacked up PS2, etc..), and I can honestly say I've played at least twice as much on my DS than I have on the Wii/PS3 combined. It's so, so worth it, even getting an old DS. Hell, I'd even lend you some of my games.

And you don't even need to get a DSi/DSiXL. There's some cute features but they are ultimately unnecessary, *especially* if you have a Lite. I just bought one because I had an old phat, and the DSi came in a very similar light blue.

A DSiXL now?
That's like four models now.
