It's ok. It seems to make sense since it goes 8mm to 16mm first, but it really does then go from 35mm to 70mm (which oddly enough has a 65mm negative.)

One question: I see this whole thread started with mention of Gainax releasing NGE on BluRay starting May 27. The article in question was released on Feb 20, 2009- thus leading to the believe of a May 27,2009 release. Which didn't happen.

Has there ever been any validity to the idea of Gainax doing NGE BluRays? Ever.

I only ask cause on a certain idiotic Eva website "Whose Name We Dare Not Speaketh" made a huge deal about an NGE BluRay release recently... and clearly didn't check their facts. And it's posted on the wrong date for an April Fool's Joke (or it truly is epic fail).

So yeah....I guess there's still no actual news on NGE BluRays huh?

There have been no legitimate news or announcements at all for olde Eva on BD. If that announcement ever did come it would be absolutely massive and all over the place.

But when i doubt, just check av.watch and if it doesn't list it it probably doesn't exist. It helps that the people there are completely gay for Eva and jump at almost every bit of technology related news about it.
