I thought Anno made her to be the anti-thesis to the kind of girls you'd fap to?

True. That doesn't stop otaku, though. Nothing can stop otaku.

It's almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy. You make a commentary about how disgusting it is that otaku fap to something, then the otaku end up fapping to the portrayal of your commentary. The rest of the world screams at you, saying "Look what you've started!" and you hang your head in shame that your message was lost on most of the target audience. So you change the message 50 times before making The End of Evangelion, thinking that will make your point.

Exactly. It really grates at times how many of Rei’s supposed “fans” have no idea of who she really is.

Another reason for her sadness is that she knows her current form is not her true form and that once she attains her true form she may loose her self forever.

That would only apply to Rei 3. Rei 1 seemed to be really enjoying herself, Rei 2 didn't know she was anything but herself, and the later forms (the way I see it GNR=Rei 4 and bookends=Rei 5) actually were exactly who/what they wanted to be.

I’d have to disagree with you about Rei 2. She new a lot more about her self then she let on. As for the Rei’s after 3, I wasn’t referring to them because they had already made the choice to return to Lilith and had done so; they had nothing to fear anymore. I have to admit that personally I never really make any real distinction between any of the Rei’s. Their all just Rei as far as I’m concerned.

Watch ep25 again. Rei 1 knows, but she has to tell the others before they get it; Rei 2 died in ignorance and Rei 3 is only in the process of reintegrating those memories in this very scene.

"Bologna Pony" is most definitely what Tiffany calls Matt's phallus when they are doing the nasty.

Ah Matt and Tiffany...

One thinks he's Anno, the other thinks she's Asuka.

The continuity errors and plot holes. :P

The initial 'monster of the week' type deal, even if it was just passing the time semi decently before the shift to a downward spiral. The transition is really what bugged me. Perhaps it wasn't 'meant' to be as smooth, but still, it seems as though it was missing something. In other words, the seemingly rapid shift of focus on 'normal' life to psychosis.
Everything is subject to change.
