Does anyone remember The Real Ghostbusters? It used to be my favorite cartoon, and then it completely slipped off of my radar. A few weeks ago I found out that it's been released for the first time on DVD! Season 1 just came out and I picked it up the other day.

It's awesome! The episodes all have introductions by random cast/crew from the show, which gives a bit of a behind the scenes info about the show. There are also some commentaries, a "making of"documentary, and a lot of other cool stuff.

Can't wait for volume 2!
waiting for a Ghostbusters / Evangelion crossover...

After He-Man and before Ninja Turtles, the Real Ghostbusters was my obsession. I was like five at the time. I remember some of the episodes just being unremarkable, but at least a few were totally awesome. Most of them seemed to have the Samhain ghost. I had tons of those freaking toys, too.

maybe I can find a torrent. that would be a trip.

Yes, I have watched Evangelion, the series and all four movies, at least thirty times in the past ten years. Some of it much more than that.

I just want to say I'm not very active in this forum because I get WAY too passionate about Eva and my opinions and theories and I know it, and I don't want to get carried away and start flamewars. It's (not) what I really want to do. ha ;)

It was an amazing show just like a lot of the cartoons of the 90's.

Initial post was back in July and went unnoticed then. Almost certainly astroturf. But, hey, if you wanna talk about the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, then who you gonna call? This thread.

I have some old Ghostbusters ViewMaster slides, somewhere.

I liked that they explained why Slimer was living with them.

Ahhh the good old days. Now all of the cartoons coming out are just creepy and bizarre.

That, I think, would suit RGB just fine.

By the way, I'm currently working on a Christmas-themed photonovel for Ghostbusters.net and a few other forums. Just say the word and I'll post it here.

Of course, this is what makes The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack probably one of my favorite cartoons ever. It's the only good cartoon still out there.

It seems like everything is trying to carry shades of Ren & Stimpy, and failing hard.

I loved The Real Ghostbusters so much as a kid!

I actually went back and revisited the episode "The Collect Call of Cthulhu" after reading a few of Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos stories a few months ago to see what the episode got wrong/right and almost literally squee'd whenever Miskatonic University, Dunwich, shoggoths, or Cthulhu itself showed up. That episode singlehandedly revived my interest in the show, and I've had my eye on the box sets since then.

Poor student walking, but I'm scraping the money together for it. After all that's happened this semester at school, I think I deserve it.

I remember watch this on KidsWB back in the 90's, great show. I hope for a new GB tv series when the 3rd movie ever gets made.
