Should I even bother with Rebuild?

Is it possible to watch the Rebuild films as a stand-alone movie series, or does it rely on Wild Mass Guessing (You'd know what I mean if you go to TV Tropes)? Like, is it possible to understand it or do you just have to make something up?
Haunted dolls? If Rozen Maiden ever taught us anything it would be to look under it's dress.

IMO, you dont need to make stuff up. THey changed things a LITTLE here and there; but nothing to make you "unlearn what you have learned" :yoda: So to speak.

I'm hesitant about Rebuild 2.0 and onward because of the changes in the storyline -- I'm very much a fan of the way the original episodes played out -- but in the very least I'd say it's worth it to watch Rebuild 1.0. The changes they made in Rebuild 1.0 compared to the first six TV episodes seem to help new viewers understand what's going on a little better. For me, the first time I watched the TV series it seemed like the first half of it was normal mecha fare, then it started getting very weird very quickly. Rebuild 1.0 seems to set the stage upfront that this ain't your typical giant robot anime.

I KNOW RIGHT! It's not like Anno took the original prints of the series and took a massive shit on them.

Xard: But the bitching is pointless in general.

Anyway, decide for yourself whether or not you want to see the films. Personally, I feel 1.0 and 2.0 are 10/10, but I am planning on watching all four films back to back once they're all released.

not really. Just combination of barely any sleep in course of last 48h (5 hours of sleep is NOT sleeping damnit) + drinking more different kinds of shit I can remember + general wangstyness for only encountering fuglies and screwing up REASONABLE course of action that's going to teh city next to us (can't bother to explain) by having stupid friends = these posts

so yeah whatever. I'm perfectly "composed" IRL right now actually.

maybe I just type this shit up as I come up with it. dunno, internet and IRL are different in the end. damn I'm tired

but I honestly did not understand SSD's point... wash she agreeing or dsiaggreeing me or what O_o

Lots of people have found it entertaining, and I don't see why you wouldn't either.

I think its cool to have alternate continuities

however, I already know that 2.0 is where the real fun begins

Yes.You should bother with it.1.0 is awsome. And 2.0 continues that and makes it even more awsome. You dont want to miss out on these movies. You really dont. And also, the movies are made more understandable for people who never got the TV series or are new to the anime. As a Eva fan,I'm bothering with Rebuild because Evangelion is one of the best anime out there and Rebuild helps prove it IMO. ^_^
