I wasn't. Then again... I do tend to like 'em. Image

I was pleasantly surprised considering the ADV and Mangle dubs sucked.

Am I the only one who thinks that the clips off the website look like they came from1.11?

Good. What's up with that anyway? Isn't that like false advertisement?

Wow.From watching the clips, the dub doesnt sound half bad.But uh,why do Misato and Shinji sound like their voices are deeper? They sound deep. Not real deep though. It doesnt bug me per say but it's kinda weird. They sound slightly different then they did in the TV series. But not enough that you cant tell they're the same voice actors though.

I also gotta say,Gendo sounds wierd. And Fuyutsuki sounds quite. And while I'm at it,Ritsuko doesnt sound too bad either. But I'll admit her old voice actor was better.Maya's sounds like the one who did her in the series except different.I cant put my finger on how different though.

How awesomely stupid that I have to use a proxy just to visit a promotional site. (Then again, so did the Japanese with the streaming trailers.)

Just an observation.

The footage is from 1.0 which has no darkness issues, just like 1.11

Not the print screened at Sci-Fi London, at least, which still had the contrast issues. And yes, it was 1.0, not 1.01 (and used the original subs, not the Funi subs).
The Funi DVD still has the contrast issues anyway, so it's somewhat of a moot point.

2.0  SPOILER: Show
Man, the scene when Kensuke tells Shinji about Touji's sister and he hugs and jumps on Shinji is going to be so awkward with this voice.

It was pretty awkward in the original. Run, Shinji, run! :gasp:

He shuddered a bit, remembering the somewhat creepy level of detail Kaji had gone into, while rubbing a watermelon in a disturbingly sexual way.

Yeah, but when one considers that the guy voiced Kaworu in one of the releases of the original series, the whole scene gets a d20 roll on it's weird factor.

On topic, i must say, though i was never one for dubs, and only listened to snippets of the original NGE-in-English, this new Funi version sounds a whole lot more professional than the previous efforts. There are a few wordings that detract from the original intent ("Dad." "Rei." Nope, try again.), but it's not deadly, and overall the lines are delivered solidly (the voice actress for Miasto hams it up a bit too much with lines like "Moooooove out!", IMHO, but it's still servicable).

I guess the weakest point of the original was voice directing, and that's where the Funi version improves the most.

Well I haven't heard any girly Shinji-screams yet, so far so good. Gendo doesn't sound Stern enough though.

Thanks, but it's the same. I don't think the Coral cache network masks the user. I had better luck with http://www.webdico.com/red/

But whatever, the full eight minutes is available on YouTube here (official), without restrictions for once. (Maybe they forgot.) Wasn't very good tho'.

Yeah, I think so too! I got my copy of 1.01 and it looks nothing like the clips! Oh, well as long as I have it, it's okay...
NGE was a damned good anime
EoE was an anime masterpiece
And Rebuild is nothing short of epic

What are we attempting to create by doing this once more? I think that this is significant in terms of EoE being a sequel if I do say so myself, it can also be just a straight forward question though...Whaddayah think?
