Shinji states in episode 16 that he's unable to swim (rather, Leliel brings up that fact to Shinji who retorts "Humans aren't made to float!").

Lili - THANK YOU for posting the drafts and giving summaries that we can all read. I have some thoughts, particularly when it comes to the impact of drafts one and two on rebuild, about the changing political context of fandom from the mid nineties and the late two thousands (what do you call the late two thousands ... the aughts?) and the semiotic work that Anno was trying to do upon otaku, but my thoughts are a little bit helter skelter right now. Be that as it may be, I still wanted to post a big giant THANK YOU for (a) sharing and (b) investing so much time in the summaries so as to help make the sharing possible.

I would love to read your thoughts on the topics you mentioned, once they have 'settled' - I'd be honestly very interested in discussing/reading about those particular aspects.

It'd be interesting to see whether they included Anno's views on the Drafts and what excuses he made - if any - to cover up for them! xD

Like I probably said before, I personally place more value on scripts/dramas/anime etc. than magazine interviews - largely due to the infamous trolling habits of certain anime staffers (helloooo, Anno and Morosawa...) - but if you could scan it, I think we could also find some valuable info there... I'd be particularly interested in the parts about the making-of of episode 24... :nyao:

Also, would you mind if I also hosted the scans on my LJ?

I'm reading the interview now and it seems pretty interesting so far!
I can tell you it confirmed some of the rumors I heard in that it seems to shoot down the FemKaworu theory completely. :evillaugh:

It did sort of look like that to me, I suppose it wasn't that Kaworu was leading him on, but instead that he realised that he couldn't become intimate with the Puppy... not without hurting him when the mask slipped. It still hurt Shinjuliet though :shinji_boohoo:

Uhuh, he never did swim, the show does alude to that fact more than once, although they never got to explain why or bring it in as an actual plot point.

It only made sence that there would be one, but now we finaly get to line up his image along side the Ikariquariums. I think the Tabbies would be happy enougth with just the Shinjiquarium though. :shinji_blush:

Incidentally the Kaworuquarium's juxtaposition makes it look almost like they're some sort of underworld beings.

The 'quarium looks like a doujin, but the image was nice.

Regarding the book, I'm really not sure how much it's worth? I didn't realize it was rare.
