Am I the only person that becomes both depressed and happy when you hear this song? It's really strange to describe this song...

Yeah, when I first heard it (before I'd seen EoE) I was like, "Wow, what a crappy song!"

And now when I hear it, I wanna cry. It's depressing, but the tone is kinda...happy. o_O;

It's a happy song about wanting to die. Of course it's going to cause cognitive dissonance - like this word:

GREEN

Though the last time I heard it, I just felt bewildered - it was being used as background to a slideshow of a SFWJ party, full of happy cosplayers

I broke into laughter the first time I heared it during EoE.

So very appropriate...

I cried.

Like a S/A shipper.

Well, I didn't -literally- cry, but I was freaking out.

I like it. To be honest, I didn't notice it in EoE until about the fourth time I saw the movie, or so... :) But I only like the first part, the "It all returns to nothing, it all comes tumbling down, tumbling, down, tumbling down" (or whatever) thing is a bit 'boring' to me... So, well... It fits better to the movie, but as a song I only like the first part.

The tune stuck in my mind after first seeing EoE (and the first time hearing it) - probably by the association of the jaunty melody with the shock of the first strangulation scene, and then the Instrumentality images - though I didn't catch the words that time around.

[code:1]Shinji (weakly - getting to his feet):
Help me... Somebody... Somebody help me...
Help me... Help me... Me... Help ME!!

(throws the table aside)

Don't leave me alone! Don't abandon me! Don't kill me!

(picks up a chair and throws it at Asuka's feet)

Asuka (coldly):
... No...

(Shinji strangles Asuka - Komm Susser Tod (Come Sweet Death) begins to play) [/code:1]

The song is beutiful. I listen to it near everyday... several times a day. It actually makes me feel better when I am sad or feel mono when I am happy. And I like being mono.

IIRC, the lyrics start just after Rei says "Then, what are you hands for?".
Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?

Ahahahahaha...

When I first saw that scene, I glomped Sachiel and started crying like a little baby.

That song cracks me up. Like, I like it, but I only play it in the confines of my own room, where no one can hear me and I dont feel stupid.

Its kind of scary.

Yeah...I understand now how it makes me feel.

When I first heard I was thinking, "Ahahaha, that's a funny song."

Two marathons put that out of my head.

That song is what set me on the path to collecting Eva soundtracks.

_you can't do anything, so don't even try
_get some help
_don't do what sonic does

That´s a song I rarely hear. It´s oxymoronic and has that "deep" feeling. Indeed a song to hear once a week, or else it would be pretty much spoil the "effect" that the song has.
What?

No, you´re just a follower of subjectivism.

I wish I was. Seriously, I'll just suddenly decide I've heard a song too many times, and it loses its power.
