I wouldn't put it beyond him, especially considering that Rei is a clone of a 14yo version of his beloved Yui. Unfortunately, when I bring this up the hard-core Eva vets state that; "If it wasn't shown in the series, it didn't happen." Make your own conclusion from that. I wish I could say more than that, but...

Gendo may have loved the Yui part in Rei but i doubt he saw much more in Rei than just a tool to get back real Yui.

I could have sworn I already answered this, but I'll say it again: NO. Rei never gave the impression Gendo molested her or had sex with her, unless we're talking about H doujin/fics instead of canon.

Not here Reichu, this was a set of incidents on other message boards. Sorry for not making that clear.

I always got the impression that, while gendo was, in a sense, 'fond' of Rei, because of both her resemblance to Yui and her purpose in his plans, at the same time he couldn't help but depersonalize her, because of just how much she is not Yui, in her speach, mannerisms, and opinions.

If Rei acted more like Yui, then perhaps Gendo might have slept with her....or at least lived with her, but as she is, she was a tool in his plan, a reminder of what he was aiming for, but at the same time a reminder that he hadn't succeeded yet.

In other words, no I do not believe Gendo slept with Rei.

On a side note, I don't think Gendo slept with Akagi and her mother for personal reasons either, I always felt to him that was just further means to an end. As was mentioned, He'd sleep with a Leper if he thought it would further his goals, and by sleeping with the good doctors he got emotional devotion and a twisted (if unstable) bond of loyalty to keep them working for him.

Gendo has Dr. Akagi for his "needs" he doesn't have to go to Rei.
