What are the "Adams"?

Um, a debate like "which Eva is better" doesn't belong in this thread (You can always create a new thread in this subforum to debate Eva-05 vs Eva-06 if you want). This is simply a speculation thread on what the term "Adams" means.

On topic, I still think Adams is simply another term for the Angels similar to Lilin being another way of saying humanity, OR maybe "Adams" do have something to do with the FAR. Or it could always be something else nobody thought of yet either. :shrug:

So. Okay. Lets see. Heavy SPOILERS here, ya'll been warned already.

In 2.0 we get this footage of 2nd Impact:

We see four crazy cats, abstractly rendered, with halos, red eyes, and what appear to be cores. Two have cores in their chests, another has a core with a circle around it, and the final one either has a core in its forehead or three eyes in a triangular configuration.

So... yeah. Neat. I'm thinking maybe we already know who three of these Lilin+/Adams things are (I believe this is how they're referred to in the 1.0 outro?).

So... Rei and Shinji together unshackle Unit-01? Don't know. But since Eva is all about obsessing over symbolism that might have been conceived by Anno arbitrarily after a 3-day, 11th hour bender, I figured it'd be worth something to point this all out.

Though do you mean to say that all 4 of those Adams ARE Rei, Kaworu, Shinji etc (TIME PARADOX!), or Adams and Lilin BOTH have the ability (along with the Eva, unless they happen to be an Angel themselves Rei and Kaworu cough) to bring about 3rd Impact like the Adams brought about 2nd?

Either way, it makes sense Shinji (and shogouki) are special, considering Mari said so and it seems so far at least Eva-01 (and 00?) don't/can't have interchangeable cores...

If Red eyed Shinji belongs to the adam crew, What in the hell Maris Green eyes are suposed to stand for?
Lilin?

The true soul of lilith ?

Or just Radioaktiv contamination through super non human powers of the released Eva-02?

Hm..

So Rebuild is not only a sequel, but a time loop in and of itself? Maybe the Adams are actually the parallel universe selves of the characters mentioned, staring through a transdimensional rift?

Interesting thought from the OP. If this theory will somehow be confirmed in the future installments, buy yourself a beer (or any other beverage of choice) in my stead:P.

Here's a better picture of the ADAMS. As yo can see, the leftmost one has 6 dots around its core. Feel free to factor that in however need be.

I got this pic from the new 2.0 preview that was shown with the TV airing of 1.01. The writing is the TV logo that is present on every channel.

Didn't Ritsuko shout out some waring about Shinji being unable to return as a human around the berserk sequence (of course Shinji being in one of his EOE like fugues, and being egged on by Misato never listened and nearly killed everybody)? I supose it makes sence to guess that Shinji is going to fall outside of normal... and perhaps Asuka's contamination our translators mentioned might be a the fourth...
