Hello. First time poster here at the Eva Monkey forums. Good to be here, nice to meet you all, yadda yadda yadda, on with the show...

What I was wondering is; does anybody here know about the two Lost Angels from the Eva RPG book mentioned in the bonus section of volume 8 (or was it 7?) of the manga?

All I know about them is their names: Iblis (from whom I took my name, obviously), & Baraqijal (I'm almost positive I spelled that wrong). I know that Iblis is the Islamic equivalent of Satan, but I know nothing about the other guy. The name sounds vaguely Middle Eastern, so I'm betting he's from the Qua'ran, too.

Anybody know what they look like? What their powers are?

And then there's another thing...

This freak looks nothing at all like any of the Angels in the show. Is this one of the RPG Angels? If so, which one? Where can I find pictures of the other?

This has been bugging me for a while now.
2:34 And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Giant robots with angels trapped inside of them,
Teenaged pilots & an evil organization,
Doing battle with giant monsters from beyond,
Mankind's last hope lies in the Evangelions

Yeah, they're from the Quran. According to "The Heights" 7:21, Iblis tempts Adam in Eden. Baraqijal is like the angel of God's lightning or something. They're in the book RPG like you said. I've never known about that picture. It could be Iblis or Baraqijal or maybe just concept art.

I'd be intrested to know if this RPG is worth my time. Also if it mentions what Rei is the angel of i'd love to know that too.

Wow! Thank you!

That was really informative. Iblis kinda looks like a Girugiru from Mazinger Z. And Baraqijal looks like an amoeba. He's supposed to be an electric type, right?

Cool stuff. That Russian guy seems funny, too.

Ugh. That's what that Maria broad looks like? What a disapointing design.

And here I had my hopes up and all... She's even worse than stupid Mana. (Who herself looks like nothing more than a half-assed mix of Rei and Yui.)

Nicholaiev however looks like a badass.

Mixing Rei and Yui? Isn't that sort of, er, redundant?
I mean, you either get this, or this...

While I agree in some respects, I generally think that female anime/manga characters that aren't fap material are commendable achievements. Then again... I'm sure Maria could be fap material, too, with just the right treatment...

Yes, it really is.

Mana is worthless.

Eva's characters all have a certain humanity to them. Mana is a cardboard cut out with none of the deepth that make Asuka, Shinji, and the rest a rare find in anime .

Who said fap material? I just thought since her premise is stupid (some new, transfer, pseudo-eva pilot) they could at least give her a cool/interesting design.

And as for Rei and Yui, not really in my opinion. I mean, Rei isn't just a strait up clone of Yui. She has Lilith in her too. I don't know about you, but I just consider them different people.

If you're referring to her soul, then yes. However, the idea that she is some kind of weird "human-angel hybrid" doesn't have any support at all, really. Her pigmentation is funny -- otherwise, she is physically IDENTICAL to Yui, just the way a clone should be. Saying that Lilith DNA is somehow responsible for the pigmentation is a little perplexing, since Lilith is completely white and doesn't have blue hair; and even when she does grow hair, THAT'S completely white, too.

However, there is evidence that Rei (at least, Rei 2 and up) aren't made out of ordinary matter -- however you choose to explain THAT.

I don't know about you, but I just consider them different people.

They ARE different people, but that doesn't take away the fact that their character designs are fundamentally the same. Take color out of the equation, and Rei is just Yui as a teenager with a slightly different haircut.

That's not "support", that's the opposite of support.

Sorry, sorry, it's just that my adversary the Mathematician seems enamoured of the writings of the Otaku of RahXephon, as well as Gazdakka Gizbang and I feared that his tropical brain-fever was spreading!

I don't know. He got awfully excited about a lot of things, and then dissapeared. He's a big fish on the TrivialBeing forums, I think. Well, he's also a bosom buddy of RahOtaku, and as such, I shed no tears over his absence, if you'll forgive me for saying so.

He's also a passively-aggressive militant defender of the dub. Any statement of flaw is met with, "Well, everyone has an opinion, so STFU."

After tonight's adventures in forum-land, I feel oddly conflicted about this description of Gazdakka, as it seems that I am not so well regarded around these parts myself. It comes as a shock to me, of course.
