Russia to the rescue again. I especially like the scene where Misato and Shinji are standing there in Terminal Dogma. I don't think that was there before... Stuff with the first angel fight also looks sweet. But why do we need to have a 3D Misato car?

EDIT: Nevermind, that scene was there before. Just trying to find something to make me care more than I actually do.

Anyone think they could put a ENGSUBS file together to add to this Bluray ?

I am buying the Blu Ray, just to have Eva on BD, rather than a few more/unique & prpbably inconsequential minutes of movie.

R3HK & R4 legit with English subtitles

There are 2 legit DVDs with Eng subtitles. The R3HK, & R4 (either Australian or New Zealand).

I prefer the former's translation, but don't think either region is particuarly accurate. The R3HK has a LE release as well & included the dialogue script, mirroring the R2 Japanese . :misato_service:

R4 had no extras IIRC. :shinchair:

I had to pay $96 for 1.01, so I think I'm over 1.0. I'll take my crappy, dark 1.01 and pray that the American release has normal brightness. A couple of 5 second "new scenes" isn't gonna make me shell out the bucks this time.

Besides, it's time to focus on the 2.0 DVD release...

^ I don't know if learning the hard way and then still being susceptible to the Khara milk machine is smart...I haven't done anything to redeem myself.

But really, "new material" doesn't seem to mean completely new scenes, it just seems to mean they redrew things we could have already envisioned and are familiar with...

^Everybody's gotta draw the line somewhere. Thankfully I was never into collecting stuff like wall posters or useless trinkets with Eva stamped on it, I mostly stuck with the most official stuff like the Soundtracks and DVDs.
...though I have been suckered in to buy some of those 5 inch Eva statuettes.
....and lately I've been tempted to buy all the Revolvetech Evangelion 2.0 figures cause I don't own any actual Evas
...oh no, it's starting!!!!

I FINALLY got around to watching the subbed DVD rip of 1.01, which was my first actual viewing of Rebuild. Although at times it did feel a little too familiar, I thought it was good overall. I liked the updated art, and the new battles were very pretty. I'm looking forward to the Blu-Ray release, although I think I'm going to hold out for the localized version. Although the lack of English is a big reason, the cost of importing is an even bigger one!

Misato's rank in Rebuild?

Depending on subtitle translation, Misato is either a Captain, or Major or Lieutenant Colonel. Which is correct?

If Lt. Col. , it would give her more importance, & show the secrets she knows in Rebuild (but doesn't in Eva TV) have given her greater importance, & more authority on a par with Ritsuko.

From another POV, a higher rank & established knowledge, with other Rebuild changes gives more strength to the Shinji-reality-upgrade-reboot theory.

Well I do wish to pick this up just so I can have the DVD itself and not my ripped DVD that I have. It has a cool menu screen though ^_^

Misato's toyboy: Err...In Rebuild of Evangelion, Misato is stated as being a Lt Col. There's no "Depending on the translation" about it. With the original series, she's first a Captain then a Major but her rank in Rebuild means she isn't higher or lower then anybody rank-wise. (Also, Misato being a Lt Col in Rebuild gives Asuka the ability to become Captain as she'll be in 2.0.)

Perhaps the overall colour theme/tone for Rebuild is meant to be darker (& gloomier/more foreboding). Its also for the big screen & therefore, less bright colours would be normal. :ritsuko_mug:

Please don't double post.

Rebuild is definitely a different reality. An alternative reality to the TV one.
