Besides the peanut butter arc, have there
ever been any good filler story-arcs in
any media?

Examples of bad fillers might include:

DBZ's Garlic Jr. saga - could the wait for
Goku have been made any more painful?

Star Wars' episodes II and III.

A possible good example might include:

Sailor Moon R's Makaiju/Doom Tree arc -
Mercury kicks ass with her bubble-spray freezing :]
Us Animay watching evageeks gotta stick together! - Joy Evangelion

Star Wars' episodes II and III.

Those movies had problems, but I really wouldnt call them fillers. A filler is a story that basically has nothing important happen in it. While those may not have been the best movies, some stuff did happen that was important to the plot of the star wars universe.

I stopped watching Naruto Shippuuden because the fillers were so damn annoying.
Seriously, chasing some one jumping from tree to tree for about 5 episodes.

I enjoyed some of the Bleach Fillers but the bount arc was irritating.

I enjoyed none of the Bleach fillers and I particularly despise the Bount arc: most of episodes are forgettable, the characters are poor and the fights are nonsense. For the love of God, how is everyone having so many problems with those Bount pansies?! They are a bunch of pissant whiners, how are they not all dead by now?! I can't wait till it's over.

I perversely enjoyed some Kenshin fillers. They were nowhere near as good as the canon material, but I enjoyed them. Largely because they went so over-the-top hilarious, but without the, should I say, dignity of the source material. German illuminati ninjas? Magic pentagram WMDs? Wat?

I would slightly disagree with the Star Wars prequels, yes they did suck when compared to the originals, but not all of it was filler, or "bad filler"

Episode I was pretty damn bad in most respects though, Episode II wasn't so bad, and III was the best of the prequels but kind of paled to the originals

and the filler on Bleach made me turn against it, got so frustrating to watch after a while

but even Eva had filler that wasn't pleasant

Though I've noticed that the "If it's not in the Manga it's filler and crap" crowd seem to hate it, I really like the "Doll" episode of the Love Hina anime. It does an excellent job of illustrating the show's "promise" theme.

I would say back in the day about 10 years ago some of the shows on morning tv when you were getting ready for school were pretty lame. I guess the amount of alterations in Ninja turtles got a bit out of hand. Then the live action crap. A good one would be episode 7 of Evangelion. Has its ups and downs but really doesn’t need to be there.

EVERY EPISODE OF COWBOY BEBOP IS FILLER.

-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Naruto fillers were irritating. Naruto Shippuuden, on the other hand, tried to avoid fillers by stretching out the events into massive staring contests. It was also irritating.

Beebop is all filler? I suppose it depends on how you label the 'main' plot. Certainly many episodes are but some are also connected together to form the various charecters' ongoing search for meaning in their past and present lives.

Zeak: Very worth watching, and I believe this is a case of the dub being better than the original.

Filler doesnt apply to episodic anime like bebop. You can only call something filler if its in a story that focuses a lot on an ongoing plot, bebop doesnt do that enough to fall into that catigory.

Best: The Dragon Gods Saga in Yu-Gi-Oh. Yu-Gi-Oh had some decent fillers and this one is the best out of all of them.

Worst: Dragon Ball GT unless you count that since most fans count it as one big filler arc.

I don't think the Dragon Gods were filler, considering they were part of the rest of the series too.
