Her lack of intellegence when it comes to socializing?

Lack of intelligence, Rei not being socialble, what's her deal there? Not sure how you would describe that one.

Key the Metal Idol Is the most awesomes bishie/slashy character ever to grace a great comedy anime such as Excel Saga since ever. Maybe since good old Kerel came to life. (Kerel is an actual parody of Kaworu who was in Slayers Try, for those who don't know)

Would someone please post a picture of Key? Screencap or whatever? Thanks! Image

Key is not a bishie, and she is not from a comedy anime. Image

You're thinking of the sexy robot woman, aren't you? Doesn't Iwata (one of the three ronin) fall in love with her? Then they rebuild her as a tiny little girl.

Ah, so now I get it. No, the Key I was talking about was bishie on Excel saga, who had the same name(he was a metal rock star. Image)
Reichu, I thought you'd seen Excel Saga, what with the Menchi avi and all.(maybe just the early episodes then...)

Whoops. I guess I took the term "metal" idol a little too literally, I thought you were talking about a robot. As for the fact that you called him a bishie, I guess I figured that you could just as easily be refering to a bishoujou as a bishounen.

EDIT: Japanese language question: "Bi-shou-jou", if I understand correctly breaks down as beautiful-young-girl, in that order. Presumably the Japanese for girlfriend, "Kanojo" uses that last sylable "girl" in the same way, does it? The only reason I ask is because it sounds logical, but "Kareshi", the term for boyfriend doesn't seem to have any connection with "Shounen" or "Bishounen".

Come to think of it, I'm not even sure that those words mean boyfriend and girlfriend. Look at "Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou" - That's translated into English just as "His and Her Circumstances". Maybe that translation is just because "Circumstances of a Boyfriend and Girlfriend" sounds too clunky. :-P

SPOILER WARNING! (highlight to read) : [ It would be inaccurate, besides. Inaccurate at first, becase the characters who are the "Kare" and "Kano" of the title don't even get until the volumes of the manga. They just do the traditional mating dance of the human teenager. ]

Perhaps Kareshi & Kanojo are just masculine and feminine pronouns, but that they imply romantic connections, rather than explicitly mean that? Could this be the case?

No, I never did finish "Excel Saga", despite the fact that I own the box-set...

"Key: The Metal Idol" is an actual anime series. It's a little strange, but I recommend it. Despite the fact that I've only seen it in full once. Image

I liked Key the Metal Idol, until the last 2 episodes. They explain absolutely everything, and the ending itself sucks, as much as the idol part in LA GTO. That's why I removed it from my collection.

Oh, I see. You should watch it, it gets better(with the Key parody on episode 23, what I was talking about before), until 26, the Hentai parody, which takes place after the "ending". Image

This thread is becoming far too coherent. Please wrap up any real discussion and try to maintain the appropriate level of insanity.
