Cosplay is only fun when people do it right, which is almost never.

_you can't do anything, so don't even try
_get some help
_don't do what sonic does

I enjoy making a fool of myself, so I agree with you! Aside from just being fun, cosplay is a great way to become an Internet icon, like Man-Faye or Man-Rei! It can also land you a starring role in cos-pr0n -- but what would I know of such things?

Quite.

I'd always thought maintaining a full beard was a pretty good exemption from this sort of thing (since so few characters do).

But that was before I stumbled across pictures of heavily built and bearded Sailor Senshi, which caused me much the same reaction.

Damn, I already knew what was comming, yet I clicked anyway. Can you do me a favor and never provide links to that kinda stuff, If it's really important I'm sure we can use google. Thank you, I'm going to gouge out my eyes now.

And who the hell is the dude with the top hat in the undies supposed to be?

Don't let a few morons ruin the whole thing for you. There are a hell of a lot more people who do it right than there are forty-year old Sailor Scouts. Most people at least try and do it right, so there's no need to gouge your own eyes out if your attending a con.

Man-Faye. Man-Rei. The sad thing is, you see a lot of girls who don't even look that good.

Unless you're at an extremely small convention, its more like...

"Don't let a few hundred morons ruin the whole thing for you."

And if you're at a rather large convention, like Otakon, its more like this...

"Don't let a few thousand morons ruin the whole thing for you."

I think cosplayer-watching is one of the highlights of going to cons. Fifty times more entertaining than being surrounded by geeks in normal attire.

Hey, Monkey, I have an idea... This Otakon, go as Anno.

Wouldn't be too hard. All I need to do is walk around with a microphone stand and yell "Too bad" at anyone wearing an Eva T-shirt.

Silly, you would also need to do the hair, beard, and glasses! Throw on an "Anno Inside" shirt, and you'd be set.

It would be the Best. Cosplay. Evar.
