It's not that out-of-the-ordinary. You could probably find one of those at some jewelery shop.

The link below goes to a Canadian site where the official necklace goes for $8.99. I had the exact same product before but lost it a year ago. It comes in simple packaging with written Japanese and the Gainex logo etc. It seems as ppl have said, Gainex decided to make another cross out of aluminium alongside the remake to squeeze more money outta fans. BUT if you recall, Misato's cross appeared rusted at the very end of EoE and well...the non aluminium one tarnishes over time. That kinda makes it more genuine in my view.

Yeh was the first one made by Gainax. Though it is not perfectly smooth like the aluminium one nor does it have a serial number etc. The brown 'rope' that comes with it is quite delicate so it may be worth replacing with something stronger.

Ive been trying to buy this for a few weeks now. There's one on the official store but I cant figure out a way to purchase it since the site seems to only ship inside of Japan. All the ones on ebay and amazon are either plastic or unofficial or use stock images. Does anybody know another way to get the official pendant? I'd even paypal the money to someone if they had a way to get it from the official store.

There are so called proxy services, who will send you the item if you pay them money. I personally have never used one of these before, though.

I use proxy buying services a lot, they are very much worth your time. Even the stuff that you do find in western markets, you usually get for so much less through those that you're still below the lowest price on western sites even including handling fees, shipping and taxes
