Well did some quick research and don't know what to think of that Winter 2008. It's either good news or bad news.

Bad news is Japanese winter ended on February 4th and doesn't start again til November 7. But I seriously don't think Eva 2.0 is that far away. That sounds more like a release part for 3.0

Good news- The Vernal Equinox is in March and is commonly a large proponent in the changing of seasons from Winter to Spring. The VE falls on either March 20/21 and is considered a National Holiday. If it falls on VE then Eva 2.0 could be released on March 22 (Japanese releases come out on Saturdays) or before to capitalize on the holiday.

But then again probably not....most likely I'd expect the Evangelion.co.jp webiste would be publicizing the release date of Eva 2.0 before the DVD release of Eva 1.0 So I guess we won't see the second act until after the DVD release of Part 1. Maybe it'll come out in between the two DVD releases which are oddly spaced out considering.

So it's coming out next fall?

I thought Japanese reversed order of month and date? Or rather I started to suspect it as February 9th had already passed...

What annoys me with "Asuka Attack Again" is its epic engrishy. I really hope that isn't poster of the movie, if only for the name's sake.

I think it's some sort of event involving Miyamuu. Hope it's lynching, but won't bet on it. If there's lynching involved I want logs in the pire made of Anno and Sadamoto too.

Miyamura has already said her "anta baka", it means she comes back!

I think its some event to do with Asuka's voice actress.

I'm saying that because at the top it says NEON GENESIS Evangelion, placing it in context with the "Old Century Evangelion" and not the sparkly "NEW Century Evangelion". Plus the bottom of the poster has the old looking logo and not Evangelion 2.0.

Thirdly, Asuka Attack Again besides being horrible Engrish, doesn't make sense in connotation with the new movies since Asuka has yet to attack.

Maybe its a book she wrote or something.

Of course I'm looking for any reason to make sure Eva 2.0 does NOT come out September 2, 2008. If thats the case then their early announcements of the movies were way off track.

The poster also says "SAT." February 9 was a Saturday. September 2nd is on a Tuesday.

This rebuild is verry cool.

Here's a question-

Is DIVISION the actual subtitle of Evangelion 2.0 or is it merely something made up by fans and/or temporary?
Any news on that front?

For what it's worth I have not seen the title rendered in English anywhere other than the NERV fansub. It seems like an accurate translate of the Japanese title but it may not be the English one.

2.0's English title hasn't been released. "Division" seems to be ONE way of translating the kanji designating 'Part II', but it isn't very meaningful.

Nice to see that Miyamura-san will return!

And cute, Rebuild Asuka looks cute. :)


In regards to the Japanese text saying "New Century" vs "Old Century", to me it looks like the same it's always been ("New Century Evangelion"), however, that could just be my eyes playing tricks on me.

The Jyo, Ha and Kyuu I believe are parts of Kabuki theatre works.

It'll be very interesting to see where Kaworu, character-wise, goes. He was a friend to Shinji when everything was going to hell. Since Rebuild-Shinji hasn't gotten to that point, then I wonder how they will interect. I can see Kaworu trying to be friends with Shinji, but I don't think Shinji will like him. I don't think Kaworu will be like he was in the manga, but I think he'll be unlikeable to Shinji. Other than saying stupid mysteryous things, I think he'll also reveal more about Rei's true nature.

Close enough...it's Noh Theatre. And (more appropriately for Eva) they're used to denote movements in classical music (although most symphonies have four movements...).

I don't know about anyone else, but it's beginning to drive me up the wall to see 1.0 referred to as "Prologue" and 2.0 as "Division" or "Breaking Apart."

I'm serious...it's driving me up the wall like nothing has since the "ZOMFG! It's Rei, Misato, and Asuka ALL MIXED TOGETHER" fallacy gained currency...
