Ok...... Asuka looks way to old in that picture, she looks like an angry school teacher not a teenage sparkplug we've come to know. Rei atleast looked like Rei somewhat, this Asuka they've comeup with is just blah. I hope they don't cast people off of that concept art.....

The EVA's look ok, pretty true to the originals.

I will say though the person who made the fake EVA poster there is pretty darned talented. If I wasn't already an EVA fan that poster would get me interested in the movie.

I don't understand how they can make a film out of evangelion.

The show is primarily about Shinji and his issues not about robots fighting aliens.

Unless they make it a trilogy I don't think it will work.

One film just isn't enough time for the neccessary character development.

Thats why I prefer anime series to anime films.

Of course, you have to go to that Danish Fanta site and type out the "news" yourself. That's as close as I suspect you'll get to "news" not involving just more production art about this for a long, long time, if ever.

Seriously though. I would be interested in there idea's on Shinji. They'd probaly protray him as your typical Action Hero. Good looks with either a "Bruce Willis-esk" grity look on his face or hollywood prettyboy face instead of the sulking lost soul he should look like.

The thing is they can't just portray him as the cliche "reluctant hero" because thats not really what he is. He's not a coward he just doesn't understand the point of his existance. I've never seen that type of character portrayed by Hollywood.

IMO if Shinji is in it the film will probably begin with him coming to NERV and Rei and Asuka will probably already be there. The majority of it will most likely focus on his training to be a pilot until an angel shows up in the end and is defeated.

Director Cut dvds, and im pretty sure it was just art since ADV only has that plus the scripts done. They need to find a movie studio that will finance it and I believe they never will since EVA just screams bomb.

A trilogy would be a good way to flesh out the story, I still dont think the movie will be done justice, but if the directors want to feature everything from the sereis that's worthwhile, a trilogy setup would be the most effective way of telling the story.

I more or less agree with Sharp however, most of the themes in Evangelion wont appeal to Western audiences, and so if the director wants to make the film tangible enough to Western audience, he may well drop a lot of the core intellect that made Eva so great in the first place, and instead focus on the 'whizz-bang' action side of things.
