Exactly.

I know more than 40 Matrix fans (University of Communication, what did you expect?), and only 3 or 4 care about discussing the story. The rest only cares about bullet-time, kung-fu, etcetera.

And that when it comes to part 1.

Part 2 is crap, so...

Is that a fact? I thought for sure they would knock the age of the pilots up to 17 or something. Or at least pull a Star Wars, you know where they say they are 14, but the actors are closer to 18.

If they are indeed 14, that could pose a few problems. Seeing as how Eva is heavily influenced by human sexuality. People would find it inappropriate if 14 year old children were shown in sexual situations. (I dough they are going to show a naked Misato, Rei and Asuka, asking Shinji if they want to become one. Among various other seens I can think of.....)

Straight from ADV's mouth. I know the person that posted this, and i've never seen him lie or make stuff up.

I was also expecting a 17 or 18 yo cast, but even if the age is correct, they're still not going to be Japanese.

And if you think this movie will keep the level of stuff they do to the kids in the anime, you must be into some strong drugs, or just one of the dilusionals that think this movie is actually a good idea.

If kids of this age are playing the part, I have a feeling this will be a kiddy PG movie like Harry Potter. Maybe I won't be going to see this after all.

I saw this link on Animeboards: http://www.bareface.org/feor/devin/EvaSite/index.php . They got all the rumors and announcements about the movie listed there.

Hey, I have been against this movie from day one!!

I was just inquiring as to the level of butchery that will take place. Obviously the movie will not be "R". They would louse a large part of their target audience (Seeing as how this movie will be marketed, in all likely hood, as a "Giant robots blow stuff up" film). Now as the age of the pilots is such that they are 14 years old, I fear that as low as a "PG" rating is not outside the realm of possibility.

I used to not be against this movie, that is, until I found out that they are getting 12-14 year olds to play the part, and even worse, maybe even the Harry Potter kid. I can see it now, while I go to the theater hesitantly, I will be lined up behind 4 year olds with their little harry potter and mickey mouse Tshirts.

IMO: if the movie is rated PG it will piss off enough people to incite a semo-major riot, not that this riot will fix anything, it'll just be a good way for us to take out our anger at Happy New Wave Robot Extravaganza 17.

Hm... you gotta remember that EVA was going to be a happy super mecha anime if it were not for Anno to go deeper into a depression. Hey maybe something similar would happen to the live action Director and everything will go to hell... er... burst into LCL.

I think they should have Tim Burton do it, at least it would be interesting.

Don't know the guy. What movies he directed?

Forgive my ignorance.

I would have to say do not worry about the Evangelion live action movie. So far from concept art that was released in the July edition of New Type Magazine, it looks to be an incredibly interesting movie, (and sexy at that since also included was concept art of Asuka's, skin tight, plug suit:crush: ) so, i would have to say, watch out, and don't be so harsh to judge the movie yet, I have high confidence it is in the right hands.

A 12 year old in a skin tight plug suit? Sexy? I think not. Now if it were an older woman, that would be sexy. but I'm no child molester.

and with america's ultra strict laws on child pornography (dispite the fact that a good % of them are totally unconstitutional) that would never fly.

I just hope these laws come into play because I sure do not want to see some young undeveloped girl strutting her stuff.

Yeah, that would be bad from the standpoint of a person who wants the film to succeed. It would mean a lot less people would see the flim, which is a good thing for the people (like me) who want it to fail and be totally forgotten.

i noticed that a lot of you people are basing your opinions on roumors and speculation. think about this logically for a minute. i highly doubt they'll use 12-14 year old kids for this movie. that might be what they want, but more often than not, what the studio wants is not what they get. count on 17-18 year olds. they might shift the timeframe a little to work, but that's fine by me. also, since harry potter is caught up in his own set of movies, i doubt he'll be in it. besides, he's already about 15, so by the posts given earlier, he can't play the part. judging from the released screeshots, WETA is keeping true to the overall look and feel of Eva (NERV looks very cool). of course it's not going to be an exact duplicate of the series, but what movei is? if they get the right director, like and earlier-mentioned Tim Burton (batman 1 and 2, the nightmare before christmas, sleepy hollow), or even Speilburg, the movie will be good. im expecting no less than a pg-13 rating

Well, in lack of solid information there really isn't anything else to do.

HA! Alien-like head designs, worst-cliche-ever dark cyberpunk cityscapes... I fear my head is going to explode into bloody shreads when they'll release some of their angel (alien) concept-art. Lets face it, angels in NGE are too toy-like for a live-action film. I speculate they'll add some fangs and stuff for more menacing look and come up with Roland Emmerich's God-awful-zilla.

Here's an interesting on-topic post I came across on another forum. Sounds like Tiffany Grant may have some inside dope...
