I don't the she could act her arm being split down the middle. If that actually happened to her, then he have to assume that everything else happened too, including her guts being torn out.

I think that was because it was the LOL as it is said It is the one true wepon of god or some crap like that and thats why it happened but now that you say that she would be pritty holey. I still dissagree with the Eva's causing her actual phisical wounds as it has happened befor for example eppisode 18 whe Rei is up against Toji's Eva and they sever unit 00's right arm with her nerve impulses still attatched. She fells the pain but doesent phisically have the wound.

I think it said that Rei's arm became disconnected and all her nerves there were damaged. So it was exactly like her losing an arm, but her arm itself didn't actually come off. (Until EoE) Which reminds me, maybe Her arm didn't fall of because of her super ATF?

I started to colour that picture I posted a couple of pages back and it's a mess, seriously!

I'm not cut out for computer colouring like this.

Zugz, that is a *HELL* of a lot better then I could do. I can't color stuff in the computer for shit. (Then again, my drawing skills in general leave much to be desired.)

Excellent job so far.

By the way, keep an eye out for a Shinji fanart I'll be making due to the newly reborn RP thread. ^_^

It looks pretty good so far. I'd suggest finishing up a basic coloring on the whole thing anyway before you start worrying about making it presentable. After you have all the colors down, it's a lot easier to fancy it up with shades and shines.
You dont have a DA account or some other art site by any chance do you?

Use photoshop and give each colour block its own layer. this way you can add gradients or shading and change colour levels etc really easily without messing with the rest of your work. just one area at a time.

Wow. That is just .. AWESOME. Even more so because I cry over symmetry and it has wonderful symmetry and detailing. It also reminds me of a tarot card, which is further WIN. :D

Realistic Ablino Rei & Der Mond proto-Rei vector

Postby wingnut2292 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 3:03 pm

Konnichi-wa, Bonjour, Hola, Hallo, Hello, everyone! New to the fourms, nice to meet all of you. I've been starting a superhero story based on people gaining the powers of fictitious icons. (Still mind-mapping / storyboarding it out, so the idea is very raw right now.)

Anyways, I was wanting my main character to like Ayanami Rei. (Eva being my favorite anime after all, and an excelent resource to work with in plots, themes and mood.) Since i like having pircures of the characters I build (it helps me visualize them better) I wanted to to have some pics of Rei. Esp pictures of Rei that would be closer to what she would look like if she were a real person. Now, to tell the truth, I can't draw a streight line with a ruler. But I can color. So I found some line art that was clean and looked good and colored it as I needed. The lines are by the Deviantartist Schellen.

Here are my results.

In my research about albinism(Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albinism), I found that low vision, not colorless skin or hair, is the most common and defineing symptom. So I made two versons, one with glasses and one without. (Just in-case my drawing is ...er... poor. Yes, I do take after Shinji at times, charisma wise.)

Also, I was exparamenting with Sranford University's Vector Magic
and ran a copy of the Yui Ichijo concept page I found on-line. Cleaned up very well. I Like this web 2.0 app. Makes cleaning up lineart much easier. Here's a link for it picture.

While the program I'm using does have a layers feature it doesn't have any effects to make it "shine" or things like that, which would be cheating anyway! I just want to colour it, the whole layers thing gets on my nerves if I have any more than 5 at a time.

Nope.

Rei doesn't have a form albinism, her red eyes were given to her for marketing reasons. Her pale skin is simply to make her look delicate, maybe being formed out of Lilith-stuff has something to do with that too.

http://evageeks.org/FGP/Rei_Ayanami wrote:There were two things that went into the decision to make her eyes red: one is the fact she didn't have enough outstanding features, and the second is from a business standpoint, the makers of the Eva computer game wanted her differentiated from the other characters.

Plus, albinos don't have blue hair.

Does this count as fanart?

Image

I scanned that Tree and removed all the text off it and replaced it with Rei-oriented stuff, can anyone think of other things to put on it for lols?

I was thinking about adding the silhouettes of each Rei incarnation behind each pillar of the Tree or something, I dunno. What could I put on the paths between each sephirah?
