It's handwritten gibberish to add realism. Case closed.

Or is Gainax's biography on the screen in EoE canon now?

It looks like...

whoisman
Heis UWng
why?

... to me.

"Adam" (אדם) is a Hebrew word that is usually translated to "man", whoisman is interchangeable with whoisadam.

What does the Japanese say in the corner there about +92 degrees?

If that is saying "don't let this shit go over 92 degrees C" it's probably referring to the bakelite to stop it from melting, if so then we'd know how the JSSDF got through the bakelite in EoE. It could be referring to the Adam sample, though that doesn't make as much sense seeing as chunks of him survived Second Impact which must've had temperatures well in excess of 92 degrees C.

Eva Yojimbo wrote:Why does everyone overlook the label of "sample" on it? If that's only a sample... where's the rest?

Kaji diverted the Adam sample from Seele, they likely have loads of samples of Adam that they grew into the majority of the Evangelions.

It's always been my thought that the Angels are chunks of Adam blown across the Earth and into space by Second Impact, and that each chunk re-grows from it's embryonic form to an Angel, but the bakelite stops that process.

Boy, if that were the case, there'd be a lot of synchro wars between Angels and Evas. Besides, I can't imagine how an Angel the size of Sahaquiel could gestate and mature in space without being detected. I guess they were either scattered around Earth during First Impact itself or were extremely small when 2I scattered them and tossed them into all manner of wierd places where they couldn't be found before they woke up. Sahaquiel, for instance, could've had a perfectly terrestrial birth before deciding to lift off.

You're mean Kaworu, the bio-contamination stuff, and ATF merging stuff in the show? Don't get what you mean.

UrsusArctos wrote:Besides, I can't imagine how an Angel the size of Sahaquiel could gestate and mature in space without being detected.

Angels coming from space and the ocean aren't detected until the last minute, yet Nerv managed to work out there was an Angel in a volcano.

They did find at least one of them, that's what the Adam sample is.

Here's the rest, guys. Actually, before I read that this man was apparently looking at the SDSS, I had assumed that this man was looking at a container of various embryos. I'm still not entirely sure that's not the case.

I actually think it's quite possible it's saying "whoisadam" and they messed up on the "d". It'd have to be equally messed up for it to say "whoisyou".

EDIT: I changed the entry for Adam to reflect the different possibilities of what it's supposed to say. This is my first change of this sort, so I'm hoping it's all right. >_>

EDIT AGAIN: Looking at it more closely, I'm pretty sure it does say "Whoisyou", but I'm leaving the wiki entry neutral.

Pretty cool stuff, i never thought anno would go to such detail in adding little bits like that.

The whoisyou thing though i reckon is refering to gendo.

But the heislivingwhy thing im not sure...

Should gendo be dead?

Is it a statement about Gendo as a person eg hes such a basterd he doesnt deserve to live sorta thing ?

Of course it might not be about gendo it could be refering to adam in a 'Rei freakyout question myself' sorta way

The possibilitys are too many, gahh my head.Btw is there any chance someone could get a HD screen shot or as close to as possible so we could get a better look.

Considering Ritsuko and co. seemed quite pleased when they got a sample they could study and determine that it was PWM, I think it is of relevance. Although, if that is in fact Adam's S2, then it would obviously be more important.

Zugzwang wrote:They did find at least one of them, that's what the Adam sample is.
It's likely that Adam sample is the S2, which might be the basic building block of ADO life. Since ADO can regenerate, and it seems to be the S2 that gives them that ability, it makes sense that soul + S2 = ADO life.

Every Angel has a core, soul, and an S2, so unless when Adam exploded it happened to be loaded with these 3 things, I don't think that theory seems likely.

Well, he did conveniently leave Antarctica like 2 days before 2I. Perhaps someone thought he was dead and that it was weird to send it to Gendo.

I smell cover-up there. No need for that since the Evas are made from Adam. It's all playing the part for the time being.

It's likely that Adam sample is the S2, which might be the basic building block of ADO life. Since ADO can regenerate, and it seems to be the S2 that gives them that ability, it makes sense that soul + S2 = ADO life.

Tell that to the Evas. After you're done with that you can explain why the Evas lack the organs.

The Evas were made (for lack of a better word) though. It's not the same thing as a natural birth to embryo to full-grown ADO process since it's a manipulation of nature. The soul + vessel might be all that's needed to function, but the S2 is likely what makes PWM regenerate and grow from nothing.

Something to do with the unnatural process that went into making them probably. Hell if I know what, though.

In every clone movie I've seen, the Clone always lacks something the orginal had. Including the Spider-man comics.

That's what I used to think, but then I got a clearer image of the text in Chronicle... Now that I look again, though, it still looks like it could be "man" and not "you". But definitely "living". (Even though I like "crying" more. )

If it's "man", that could potentially avoid any man-Adam problems (i.e., having the "he" directed at Adam).

I'm not sure why there's no much overanalysis going on regarding the semantics of "sample". The embryo is what's left of Adam after that mysterious simultaneous explosion/reduction. It also happens to be called a "sample" for some reason. Gendo doesn't seem to be bothered by the label; he simply addresses the thing as Adam.

Someone needs to edit the "whoisman" to "whatisaman" and have Gendo as a vampire saying "a miserable little pile of secrets!"
