Neon Panties Evangelion
The purpose of this thread is to compile all known instances of fanservice that includes panties and bras throughout the show. List all the times you can remember seeing either, if you can post a screenie then all the better! This is, of course, necessary for us to understand the subtle complexities of NGE.
The first shot of underwear I remember is in episode 2:
When Ritsuko does her scan thingy of Rei:
Just before the fight with Ramiel we can see Rei's delicious mauve and white panties:
In episode 5, note that in the first shot of the top drawer we can see Rei has some coffee coloured numbers (see this post for possible theory regarding the disappearing coffee coloured panties):
In the Jet Alone episode, I suppose these count as they are still undergarments:
At the beginning of episode 12:
Help the cause!

Do panty shots count as fanservice? oh yeah, Japan has a thing about panties...

I'm pleased to meet you and I hope you guessed my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game...so catch me if you can!! (0:50)

-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

No, it's an intentinal over-fanservice thread. Isn't that obvious? Also, you see Asuka's panties at the start of EoE. Oh, and the aircraft carrier.
Oh, but God forbid any of these theories have any validity! After all, we are just brainwashing innocent people with Reichu's fanclub propaganda!--Trigger's Elysium sarcasm for the masses!

Thanks for linking to my Underpants Gnomes theory, Zuggy. It made me "lol".
You know, this is actually kind of hard. (Then, I don't normally pay attention to such things.) I would have to scavenge the series for more girlie undergarments.
Though, offhand, you can sorta see Misato's undies when she's walking through the corridor with the phone pressed to her ear, near the beginning of 25'.

You know, I thought there was a panty shot in the very first episode when Misato goes to protect Shinji from the N^2 mine's blast by smothering him with her boobs - but it seems my eyes betrayed me. :(

I originally saw the Asuka animation accompanying someone's Yahoo Japan auctions, for my part.
