Since I have no doubt this is going to turn into some gigantic, "all furries are evil and suck" topic until it gets locked or people get bored with it, someone's got to say something positive, and since that's probably forcibly going to be me, may as well get stuff out of the way.

My opinion varies from furry to furry. Some are rather innocent people who don't get off to most of the horrible, terrible things you hear about and shake their heads at that wackiness. Usually they get pulled into furry because of animal or animal mascot characters, and participate and become furries. Of course, this doesn't always stay that way and they move into the more... obscene parts of the community, but onto that when we move onto that.

Then, we continue on to the ones that (EDIT: ) find furry characters sexually desirable/attractive and enjoy some of the pornography. It's not much different from wanting to screw an anime character, though it is a bit more disturbing to public opinion. I, admittedly, fall between these two categories - give a few years ago I was a bit more serious about it, but exposure to the faggotry-talk (4chan, etc) has given me a bit more perspective - I still like it, but not as much, and I know when not to push the issue (yes, I'm kinda doing it here, but this topic specifically asked me to do so).

And then, there are the... nutjob furries. Y'know, the ones that seem to always be showing up in the public media - fursuiters (especially the yiffing kind), otherkin (people who actually believe they are furries/animals, oh lulz), and others. Y'know, ones who take things too far and too seriously.

I'm full aware of the hate on the subculture, and I'm rather neutral about said hate - furrydom is pretty weird, after all. And to all those furries who whine about and can't take the hate: Suck it, furfags. You have my approval!

I don't really get it, but whatever. It's not inherently any worse than any other weird subculture... though all of them get annoying as hell if they just keep harping about it all the dang time to unrelated folks.
