*Meaning those aren't finished yet. If your subs happen to have some similarites to what's up on those pages that's fine; just trying to make things clear.

Ornette said I could make the ASS file because I am taking what is on the wiki and making it into a file similar to how he would have done for an SRT version.

I ask again; do I have permission to post the patch on this thread?

squall.leonhart: I'm sorry but it turns out I need you to hold off with releaseing any subtitles just yet, there needs to be clarification with several things amongst the staff.

Also, just to have something made clear: Were you planning on releasing JUST the 2.0 subtitles file you created (a naked SRT/ASS what have you), OR did you want to mux the subtitles that are being prepared with an actual movie file?

From what I understand, you are planning on only releasing it as the former--just the subtitles--but myself and the staff do need clarficatiion on this part. Thanks.

It is an xDelta3 patch that will take the camrip video and auto mux the subs into an MKV file complete with a central CRC stamp. In other words, if you run the patch on the camrip, you will have the identical file as the next person would.

This will turn your camrip video into a file with subs. Just follow the simple three steps in the included readme.

I recommend that you also set your renderer to Desktop or double resolution for best results. I've included steps on how to do that.

You must already have the camrip on your hard drive. We will not tell you how to get it.

P.S.: I just realized that this patch will only work for Windows users. I'm at work right now so I can't post just the subs, but I'm sure it wouldn't take some long to extract them and post them here. Sorry.

I just selfishly started watching without even given my thanks because I was so excited.

Dear Squall, Lili, Ornette, SSD, Tab, and other Eva 2.0 Translation contributors,

Thank you very much for your hard work and patience on this matter. I know a lot of people around the net have been heckling the Eva community about "Where's the subs!?" and whatnot, while the rest of us have sat patiently and quietly. I hereby don you true Evangelion fans and would like to say from the sincerest part of my heart, thank you.

Now I am off to watch the movie I have been tripping balls over since 2 years ago.

True Eva fans wouldn't have hesitated to release these subs when they were already finished. What was the point of doing that other than to just waste time?

Actually, true Eva fans want things to be as accurate as possible which is why the wiki pages need a quality check* before they're released as subtitles (*at Reichu's request). Besides, not all the original translators are around to help; only 3 or so people have had the time to help which is going to push things back. Lrn2patience.

@ Squall: The wiki subs will have some differences here & there (no CAPS for one thing) from your patch just fyi.
