Really ? Well I've already read Thousand Shinji and the writing was pretty good but I just couldn't take Shinji and ShinAsuka seriously

This is several years out of date, but the only examples I've seen are these--

Well, uh... um... I'm not exactly going to handle it the way it's usually handled.

I mean, the usual take on the pairing is post!Arael Asuka angsting and Kaworu pulling her out of her funk. I'm going to do almost exactly the opposite: Kaworu gets broken worse than canon!Shinji ever was and Asuka is the one who keeps him going. And I don't mean it as being out of romance, I mean that at one point after he talks about suicide, she gut-punches him then kicks him on the ground several times despite him being injured, then lifts him off the ground by his shirt, berates him for even thinking about taking the easy way out and drags him into the kitchen to change his bandages because the beating she just gave him reopened his wounds.

Granted, by that point they're adults and have three kids, so Asuka's dissatisfaction is more along the lines of "If it was just me, that'd be one thing, but to leave your own kids hanging dry just because you couldn't forgive yourself?! Is this how an adult should behave?! Don't even fucking think about it!! I don't care if I have to keep you chained up from now on, you are NOT allowed to off yourself until at least I die from old age, got it?!"

As much as I don't follow canon with the fic itself, I thought this would be more in-character for Asuka than lovey-dovey crap.

I remember one from a long time ago where Kaworu was the one that helped Asuka out of a assumed coma, can't remember if there were romantic scenes or not.

Are there any fanfics which you REALLY wish were someday updated or, God forbid, even finished? I mean, of course writing fanfics is a pretty time consuming hobby that is generally rewarded with reviews, which... most people tend not to write, and well, life goes on, an author may find that his interest in Eva, or in fanfics, or anime in general has diminished, maybe he can no longer find inspiration, maybe he simply doesn't have the time to write, or also has many other interesting things to do. Anyway, while the number of unfinished fics I've read probably numbers the hundreds, and indeed consists of most non-oneshot fics, there are a couple which really left an empty, sore spot in my heart, such as...

Verbal Klint's The Lighthouse
The Game (and Red Horseman's other stuff)
The Atheist God
Of A Pilot
The Children's Crusade
Vengeance
Conspiracies
Most of Houoza's stuff


There are, however, some fics which have had somewhat recent updates and/or their authors are still active somewhere and so I have a reasonable hope of them getting finished sometime not too far away, like Scar Tisuee (and his other promising 3.33 fic, Unbrokenand, AFAIK like most of the people in this thread, Once More With Feeling.
