You know what they say about sarcasm and the internet, don't you?

As poor as your choice of wording was, I can't disagree that we know nothing of what's going on.

In any case, the delay to the new movie isn't merely an insult to any perceived entitlement on our part to get a new movie within a certain timeframe, it's also a hit to Khara's revenues. They can't delay the new movie indefinitely.

I don't think Anno's emotionally ready for it to end,
so putting off 4.0 makes sense.

Ending the movie tetralogy is a big deal.
Once it's ended, fans will undoubtedly move on,
and it'll mean Anno has to move on as well.
In and of itself, self-evident.

Maybe they're also busy working on the English release with Funi, before they start on the new movie

Where were you all the years between NGE and ENT? I came to EGF before Rebuild was anything especially noteworthy.

I do find it a bit disappointing that they haven't touched production, but I can live with a delay if it's what they need to make it a success.

Waiting a few more years kinda sucks but it'll probably only make me look forward to it that much more :D

How long would production even have to take? Pre-production stuff has been completed, right?

Somehere I read, that the animation-production window for Q was 1 1/2 years, and the guy said, it was a pretty tight production (in terms of time). So it depends, how long Final will be, but I guess 1 1/2 years to 2 years would be a realistic assumption to make. Assuming full production starts somewhere around Anima(tor) Expo has finished, we might see the movie in late 2016 or in 2017.

Didn't the 2011 Earthquake in the middle of production delayed them for a while too?

From what I gathered there was a bit of a rewriting going on due to the earthquake and animation-production hasn't begun when the earthquake struck.

I'm so sorry, all my statements could be wrong since I have no idea, where the sources are.

It just came to me that 1.0 is nearly 10 years old already
and Anno still haven't finished the Rebuild series yet.

At this point it seems totally possible to me, that NTE will conclude on its 10th anniversary.

FFFF-! The ENT is already older than NGE was when I found it!

1995-1996: NGE begins.
2001-2002 (6 years later): Monk discovers it.
2006: Rebuild begins.
2012: Rebuild becomes as old as NGE was when Monk found it!

Wow my life has really slowed down.

Does anyone know how long did it take to make 3.0, just in terms of REAL production? (no preproduction or rewriting stage?) or at least how long did it take for 2.0 to be done?
With the bluray edition of the TV series + movies on the 2015 anniversary I guess we lost the 2015 mark for the actual final movie to come out.
Wow, I'll see it when it's out, but
WOW...
