How long did you lurk before signing up?
Thought this would be an interesting topic.

Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

Almost 2 years as a lurker... It took me a bit to sign up, I´ve always been more of a "watch don´t interfere" type, I guess.

Lurked for 5 months. First discovered this site when my knee was out and I had nothing to do for a couple weeks.
"The will to lose one's will?"
"Absolutely. The will to make oneself completely free. Will is the wrong word, because in the end you could call it despair. Because it really comes out of an absolute feeling of it's impossible to do these things, so I might as well just do anything. And out of this anything, one sees what happens."--Francis Bacon

Maybe a couple of days? Not long, surely.

It was so long ago, that I honestly don't really remember. I first saw NGE during the spring of my sophomore year in high school and I probably didn't stumble onto EvaGeeks for a couple of months after that. And I only started lurking a few months later.
I don't know...three months, four maybe?
EDIT: It'd be really interesting to get people's first impressions of other members before they became active posters. Because actually interacting with someone instead of creepily watching them incognito can totally change the dynamic on how you view someone.

Two years. Probably surprising given where I am now. I came upon EvaGeeks as a result of research for a fanfic; I joined to dig yet deeper into the mysteries of the show, as part of that same research. I kept coming because there was always more to learn (one big reason the fic remains unfinished, but certainly not the biggest reason). Eventually that took on a life of its own, and I continue to explore mysteries for their own sake rather than to incorporate them into the fic.
I never really intended to join -- in fact I was kind of afraid of getting roped in, because I'm a very habitual person who doesn't quit anything easily once it's a habit so I'm resistant to introducing anything that might become one. I was, of course, totally right .

Read the wiki, decided I wanted to become an editor. Needed a forum account for that. Made an account with the intent of not posting a whit look how that fuckin' turned out and just editing the wiki. Lurked for around a total of 18 hours, maybe.
Shin Evangelion brought me back, five long years later.

I had visited the site a couple of times a year or two earlier, courtesy of Google. I don't really remember when I started actively lurking; it may have been three or four months before I joined. But not of consistent lurking, just odd visits. Once I'd watched the first two Rebuild films, and was aware of the imminent arrival of the third, my interest was properly aroused; so I signed up in the run-up to its release, and here I am.

What mystical force compeled you to act so fast? It´s classy to lurk for a bit, you know. Or so I say to myself so that I stop regretting not joining sooner.
