Lots and looooooooots of stuff from the new movies recently, so I figured it was time to revisit an older one:

This is very different from the AMVs we usually see, and it's been criticized for its utter failure to match scenes to the rhythm or tempo of the song. And it's true, the images just flash by in rapid fire mode, only syncing up with the song at certain key, critical moments. However, that said, this vid does something I very rarely see in other AMVs, even ones that receive a lot of praise -- it tells a story. There is a clear progression in the nature of the images from start to end, and they aren't chosen simply for impact or because they match up with the song's lyrics somehow. Instead they're chosen because they mesh with the overall theme of the song, and/or because they interrelate with one another effectively. It's a different style from what we're used to but IMO it's very effective once you get used to it.
This is supposedly done by one of the show's subdirectors, a "Yukiso Masa", but I can't find any info on the guy anywhere. The Evangelion Music DVD doesn't seem to have a lot in the way of translations or supporting material available for it.
